Good Luck Liam!!!!

Thank God he got selected! Underdog, he will be fine go and get it!
Cut it close, but he's got his guaranteed money and can now chase his dream of balling in the NBA. Did NOT make a mistake entering the draft! GL Liam!

Charlotte with new ownership has made good decisions in last year . Liam will get a chance to get minutes . Lamelo ,miller , Kon and Liam , bridges will play a wide open fun , be it a small, style … I would however bet the over

While I have said Liam should have stayed another year and likely be a top 10 pick, I have also said that was never going to happen from day 1.
The thing that I will always admire the most about Liam is his competitiveness and his love for the game. Two great qualities for a talented player to have.
We can say what we want about Charlotte but when a team trades for a drafted player draft night, it usually means they really want him.

Def, take the guaranteed money on a team that has PT wide open. Charlotte wants shooting and they invested into it. All they need is stability with the GM and coach, Liam will do the rest.

Lamelo Ball/ Tre Mann
Kon Knueppel/ Josh Brown
Brando Miller/ Josh Okogie/ NcNeeley
Miles Bridges/Grant Williams
Jusuf Nurkic/Moussa Diabate

Solid fringe playoff seed.

Need to upgrade the 4 and move on from that duo.

Liam secured a 4yr/14.1m dollar contract (last 2 yrs are options so guaranteed money is around 5.7m for the first two years). Confirms it was the correct choice to leave and also is guaranteed money vs. a 2nd round pick.
It was definitely still the right choice to leave, but the 1st round vs 2nd is a valid discussion. For example Tyler Kolek got $6.6M guaranteed last year as a 2nd rounder

If you asked 100 end of 1st round/2nd round prospects if they'd rather have ~$5.7M guaranteed or nothing guaranteed but a CHANCE to get a little more going in the 2nd round, I think 99 would pick the $5.7M in the bag.

Most of those 2nd round deals are negotiated before the draft even happens, teams want to know or at least have a rough idea of what it'll take to sign those guys before they pick them

Yeah but….hes on one of maybe the three worst franchises in the league. I guess it is if its just a money thing.

I mean he should be able to earn some good PT.....no Reed Sheppard situation I'm thinking.

Also, Kolek's deal was $6.6M guaranteed over the first 3 years, so on an annual basis still less than the last 1st rounder gets.

Well he’s getting paid that AND playing basketball so not the worst life on the world. For that kind of coin I’d come and fight off any bears shtting in your yard.

Yeah, no need to deal with classes and college student life, just 100% basketball now.

What is the guaranteed money at 29 and compare the money he would have made with NIL and the impact of improved possible draft position next year?

Next year's draft class is pretty loaded too. Have 2 projected All-NBA players in Dybansta and Patterson. Then the Boozer twins, Nate Ament, Alijah Arenas, etc. Even if Liam came back and had a BEPOY type season, very possible he'd still be a fringe lottery pick as he'd have 1 more year of tread off his tires. Not to mention the injury risk.
