Nice bounce back against an overmatched Hoyas' squad.

My favorite part is Paige and Sarah were able to sit the fourth quarter.

I wonder if Geno has decided that four guards and Sarah is his best five. Or is he not thrilled with Ice and Jana or both.

It is not a universally agreed upon opinion but I see incremental improvement in Q.

I saw Allie play a lot of high school games. I thought it would take less time than this to find her groove. With the team struggling sometimes from 3, Allie finding her stroke would be a huge help.

One advantage of KK in the game in the fourth quarter of blow outs is that teams can't press because of her. Teams always pressed UConn in previous years because once the starters were out, ball handling was not as good.

I am very much on the Morgan Chelli bandwagon. Her fourth foul could be the worst call we see all year.

How can you not root for Morgan Cheli? While Sarah Strong is the obvious freshman star, Morgan makes an impact on the game in so many ways. She's going to have a tremendous career at UConn.

I love Paige, but she can be exasperating at times, particularly in the first quarter. Like in the ND game, her unselfishness at times is detrimental to her and the team. She passed up easy, wide open shots, looking for a teammate. There reaches a point when unselfishness can be a problem. You would think she would welcome an easy look after how she is hounded defensively.

Sarah is so poised, and the game has already slowed down for her. I would love to see UConn vs Texas an a Strong vs Madison Booker match up. They are both players advanced beyond their years, but I think UConn will do just fine with Sarah.

Looking forward to the USC game and the proverbial hype attached to it. I don't think the Iowa St will be that close, even if Azzi is not available. Against the better teams they've played, they haven't looked competitive.

If it wasn't for a couple of "?" fouls against UConn in the last few minutes, Paige and Sarah would have outscored the Hoyas.

Except for Senior Nights and an injury in the 1st half, this is the first game in quite a while where the starting 5 did not start the 3rd quarter. I guess Geno really, really disliked the foul Ice picked up late in the 2nd quarter.

I, too, was impressed by Morgan's game and for whatever reasons, the refs decided to imagine fouls by her, along with Jana and Ice. Another instance where Paige was getting mugged and the refs missed those calls.

Kaitlyn and KK did a tremendous defensive job on Kelsey Ransom. They made her life absolutely miserable. Ransom had 9 turnovers and 7 points. By the way, I hope Ransom is ok and her injury turns out to be just a muscle spasm or similar. Kid’s got the heart of a lion.

I’m happy for Allie that she got off the schneid and made a three. I hope this jump starts her perimeter game

Didn’t Jana start second half against ND

Didn’t Jana start second half against ND
That could be true and I was going to mention that I didn't watch the ND game but then thought, what are the odds????

Maybe Geno has changed something that I (mistakenly?) thought was a tradition.

Isn’t there a quote from Geno where he said to Paige, “Who are you going to pass to that is a better shooter than you?” (Pre Azzi)

The rotations have been up and down this season. Still perplexed why a long rangy athlete like Q, has been able to carve out minutes. She so quick and has a good shot. Nine games in and Sarah has yet to disappoint. What a great all around basketball player. I'm really liking KK the last few games. Aggressively driving to the hole and she's been knocking down some wide open shots. We will definitely need that down the road.
I wish the Big East was stronger.

She can't pass the ball well and possibly her defense is not good. She doesn't seem like she has "recognition."

Nice bounce back win for the team. I just love the bench production. Well done by all.

Ash was better, but again this wasn't a difficult game. KK and Kaitlyn both did well. Paige and Sarah our solid duo. Very impressed with Morgan - needs more playing time, just maybe what we need for March. Very disappointed in our bigs, Ice always playing at top of key, not shooting, seems lost in the flow. Jana playing too much with the body instead of her hands and she really needs to practice left and right hand layups/hooks in the paint. Both will be need to play better in the Iowa State game

Love what Cheli brings to team. Not sure the small lineup can work against the OOC ranked teams- certainly not against ISU but against big East that could be quite formidable.

A good game, though I still think the two bugs are not as productuive as they should at this point. We can hope they continue to improve. Morgan Cheli had herself a good game. Lots of action and making things happen. I really like her game.

An improvement over the ND game. But Georgetown is no ND.

Paige and Sarah were solid as expected. Still need a 3rd consistant scorer. Actually would be nice to have 5 consistant scorers on the court.

Ash had a better game. Need more from her.

KK and Kaitlyn had good games, especially on the defenseive side. Still not getting enough scoring from the point guard position.

Ice and Jana duo is improving. They will get there.

Morgan had a very good game. She does a lot of the little things.

It was an "everybody eats" game.

I thought the most efficient lineup was Paige, KK, Ash, Morgan and Sarah.

Hope Azzi is a go for Iowa State.

We have tickets to the games at the XL Center in the stands up behind the visitors' bench, and over the years, I develop favorites from the opposing teams based mostly on heart and hustle, watching them coming in and out of the game, interacting with their teammates and coaches, etc. Kelsey Ransom is 100% one of those players who I root for. (Olivia Cochran from Louisville, who we saw last week, is another.) Ransom's been a bright spot for Georgetown this year, but she couldn't buy a basket today. She was so frustrated. She did come back to the bench unaided after she went down, and I hope that's a sign she'll be back out there 100% when they next take the court.

Good win for us today. I am glad the bench got major playing time. I am still concerned with our bigs. Ice and Jana. Four and 2 points respectively. Three and 6 rebounds. 2-5 for Ice and 1-6 for Jana and only 1 block. I know Ice will never be an Aaliyah but a 10/6 average isn't out of the question for a season. Sarah is by far our best and leading rebounder. In games like this where we were going to win, I would have liked to see Geno maybe start Q. instead of Chen. Yes her footwork on D needs work as she doesn't shuffle her feet well since she is so long she takes long steps and is easily blown by. That's what made Nikka so good on defense. When she comes off the bench in garbage time it's hard to get any rhythm when the offense is stagnant and the offense isn't being run to perfection. If she got between 15-20 minutes of playing time she would average 10-15 points a game.

Nice win, the big guns did what they were supposed to do, and Shade was the Shade of ol’. KK and Chen were solid as they should be. For my money the unsung star of the game was Chelli. The girl is Shadesque with her hustle and intensity. She outplayed both other bigs when she was in there!! Z ain’t no chopped liver, either!

I rewatched the first two minutes of the game. I really wanted to see everything ice did that led to the quick substitution. Georgetown grabbed at least three offensive rebounds and she was struggling to keep Jenkins off the glass in particular. Ice on offense missed a shot from the top of the key.

My guess is Geno was just upset with the rebounds. I think rebounds were a point of emphasis and to not grab them on the very first defensive possession likely encouraged him to make the quick hook.

Was traveling during the game so I’m basing my opinion off the radio play by play.

Paige was Paige. She always gets her points in every game. Sarah Strong — wow! The sky is the limit for her. Was also impressed by KK’s tough defending on Jensen (IIRC). And Morgan Cheli came off the bench to really provide a spark in the first half; nice work, though those fouls near the end of the game were BS in my opinion. It was also nice seeing Allie get some minutes. The freshmen made a few freshmen mistakes but overall I found them to be positives rather than negatives. It can only go up from here. Chen also put in some good work.

Some good some bad from everyone else. I really wish we had someone (healthy) who could consistently hit 3s. I mean like the next KML or even KLS. Maybe Azzi …

I want to see Shade drive more inside. I love that she was drawing fouls. She has good FT % and this can supplement when she’s not hot from the arc.

I was at the game. It was loud. I thought they all looked very good. Morgan I was very impressed by….bigs need a little more time. Such a fun game.
Would have been in the 80’s if the gals made the bunnies. Very proud of Paige pushing though the muggings. Hope we see Azzi vs usc. Fingers crossed. I think Geno will probably give more minutes to Morgan. Really fun game……

Paige and Sarah...nothing but good. Chelli is a comer, she will continue to get better. Good game for the Huskies to feel good again.
Jana and Brady need lots of work to get to the level UConn needs to be a NC again. KK made her first 3 of the season, why does Geno let her shoot them? Q probably needs more playing time to get better. Azzi is always missed and getting Aubrey back will be wonderful.
Ziebell will be important to the team in the future.
