We were the underdogs in this game per KenPom And Vegas. We’re getting a major boost in the metrics anyway
We were? I thought UConn was favored between 3.5 and 5. With that kind of spread it would be very strange if Kenpom had Georgetown favored. Can you show me the Kenpom predictor? I'm curious to see how that could be.

Solo has quickly becoming an a premier shooter

Jayden’s best game of the year on both ends - hope he’s not concussed, nasty head bounce off the floor.

Reed out of sorts offensively but had 3 blocks as part of the run.

Nice bounce back for AK - needed that

Fun to see Ahmad out there. Had some good, and some bad.

Stews inconsistency continues.

Great 10 minute stretch, need to sustain and find consistency. Not sure how Hurley builds killer instinct when we go into hibernation intentionally to close out a game. Do not get it. Not a perfect game by any means but the hot streaks have a way of building spread. Really nice game against a team a too young to handle prime time, but moving in the right direction.

Week off till Creighton, who is finding a groove. Hopefully Liam fast tracks to availability soon.

Just got back from Capital One Arena. Big crowd and very pumped. The G'town fans were a huge help to them at the beginning of the game. Good UConn crowd. Felt like 60-40. For the home team.

I don''t mind Hurley taking the air out of the ball.

I do mind getting sloppy and playing bad basketball. The offense stunk for the last eight minutes and got worse by the minute. And once again, we had trouble with getting the ball inbounds at the end of game. Run the offense get off a good shot. That's all.

We are showing the ability to completely outclass the opponent when we play well.
Just got home myself and it was a great crowd - 17k+. The student section had a few very loud “ duck Dan Hurley” chants going. Not sure if that was heard on TV. However, the Hoya crowd energy was lost after we went on that tear after halftime. They started to filter out right before we went into the funk.
I was hoping to see Abraham get some garbage minutes but that went away when we gave up the big lead. He probably had a lot of family and friends in attendance.

Another promising sight was seeing McNeeley walking around w/o the boot on. He was getting around pretty well considering the injury. Hopefully, he continues to stay on schedule for his return at the end of the month.

As others have said, they played really well until they went to the stall mode.

A character win. Tough team and a great win. Super bounceback from Karaban. Ross and Stewart both gave some solid minutes on the defensive end especially. Ross’s offense is I think a real work in progress but he is coming along and he can defend. I don’t think that I would ever have him bring the ball in bounds Mack is obviously very left handed. I think that it would have been helpful if he had been forced to go right particularly in the first half. Like many have said, I think that Nowell is going to be an outstanding point guard for this team going forward.

I’d agree with you if it wasn’t the last 8 minutes. Another game down the road could end differently with that kind of execution
People have been saying that for 7 years since Dan Hurley got here, and yet it continues to work

Just got back too. Ross seemed to have a nice game today. Solo continues his tough shot making. Karaban’s return was great to see.

Big UConn contingent in the crowd. Even a couple of U-C-O-N-N chants got going.

Was there like an hour early for warmups and man, Solo is a lights out shooter from all over the court. His midrange is just as butter as his 3 point shot.

Stewart works out with the bigs and Ross works out with the guards. Thought that split was interesting. IA also works out with the bigs.

Georgetown fans started leaving the game with like 8 mins left.

I agree...but still 8 mins is too long to run no offense at all. The game was another minute of that strategy away from being a 1 possession game.
Which is why it's a good thing that basketball has a clock, and there is a time to start employing that strategy where it becomes mathematically impossible to lose using it.

And I'm not saying it's a strategy I like or would use if I were the coach, but what is undeniable is that it works

Burn the last 8:22 of game tape.

Honestly I disagree strongly with the coaching strategy to take the air out of the ball the last 8min. Hurley has been whining all year that this team "doesn't have a killer instinct". So let them keep the darn foot on the gas the whole game then. Bury them by 40.
Hurley is lulling the rest of the college basketball world to sleep. They will not consider us a threat to repeat. He will turn on the faucet and leave it running come March.

Watching from home the UCONN chant was very audible.

And by the way, for all those complaining about the last 8 minutes and our metrics. Almost every one of these sites doesn't include garbage time minutes like we saw today for this exact reason. They don't want to encourage coaches to feel the need to run up the score

Nowell? What do you base that on?
I'm basing this off what I have seen from Nowell so far in limited minutes. Maybe it is more hope as Diarra and Mahaney don't really instill confidence attacking the basket.

How is garbage time defined?

One of our better games . Ball getting better every game ; Nowell going to be good but ball sticks too much ( he will learn) . Samson playing better ; reed isn’t. This is what 2025 going to be … like a normal year

Like clockwork, people complain about the end of game offense. That was one of the best games we've played this year. The last few minutes doesn't change that

People forget the goal of late-game offense is to win... not extend leads or make flashy plays. We were FAR from perfect today and it looked like butt. But we got the job done.

I was at the game, way up in the nosebleeds and surrounded by Georgetown fans, but Husky Nation showed up today! UCONN chants were coming from all over the arena. It was a fun day!
I had things to get done at my place so I had to listen Tyler Phommachanh the TV on wireless headsets from half to to a few minutes of our big run. Yes I heard the UCONN chants. I have to give Bose credit for building a great wireless headset but I only bought the set when it was on super sale they are expensive.
