Am I the only person not at all concerned? We're 18-1 and that loss has valid reasons behind it. We're off to one of the best starts we've ever had in conference. The Big East is and always has been a rock fight....so we win a rock fight and it's still not good enough?

I don't fear any other team in the country. We'll be #1 soon and we'll be the #1 or #2 overall seed come March. If you nancies need to handwring and cry your way to the 7th title, have at it. I sure won't.

You are not the only one. Relative to what we’ve watched over the past 4 (or 40) years, these past four wins during the annual January slog were resounding successes. Why is there such a response like we haven’t been here before? People act like they’re expecting to see championship guarantees on the court. We didn’t even have that in ‘24. I don’t see any other team that is legitimately and obviously better than us.

This was two games in a row where he went out of his way to point out that UConn “got away with a foul” - in the middle of what is basically a street brawl, regarding something very borderline and ticky-tack during a sequence where our opponent very obviously committed fouls.

Malachi’s primary role is dribbler. Lord, pass the ball and stop pounding it on the perimeter.

It seems some guards are addicted to the sound of pounding a ball on the floor. Craig Austrie loved that sound too. Sadly only they can hear the rhythm. I'm just surprised the sound is not irritating to Hurley.

When Reed shot a ball with one hand, it's because his other hand was being held down. No call, no comment from Donny

When Reed was called for a moving screen, replays showed it was a very weak call IMO, he goes on about how they should be making more of those calls

Nothing about freedom of movement and grabbing, all about moving screens

I too hope he stops doing UConn games, at least road games. I don't hear him during home games

It’s so much better getting the win while we struggle, than losing.

Hurley can only do so much to “fix it“ but the rest is on the players. I mean he’s getting them wide open looks with the screens but they’re shooting 19% and he can’t magically increase that.

Wasn’t there a coach last year who told his players “move closer to the basket and do the unthinkable - take the mid range jumper because you’re three point shooting is atrocious?“. Was it Pitino?

If I was given the authority to prepare the team and make in-game decisions, I would ask Dan Hurley what to do.

One of the funniest comments I have ever heard came out of him yesterday. When talking about how last year’s Mr. Indiana basketball(of all places) Braylon Mullins , hadn’t learned to play defense yet. Braylon Mullins has obviously been taught and taught well how to play defense. He is in the right spots a clear majority of the time. He does seem to get over powered on occasion but with basic natural growth, he will defend just fine. Any decent coach at any level, understands the value of learning to defend.

I fear no team out there because we will beat anybody. Its the conference foes, particularly the middle of the pack teams that scare me.

All teams are susceptible to playing down to their competition or simply play better/harder against top competition. I sense this team is one of our teams that are developing this habit. Sure we will win our conference games but we seem to win with more conviction against ranked teams.

This seems the type of team that will relish and thrive getting out of Conference in March.

They're winning, but there are flaws. One issue is that it's been very rare we get the whole group playing well in the same game. Today we had Silas and some Tarris for a bit, and that's where it ended. Other days it's a different 1 or 2 players. One of these days, we'll get all 5 guys clicking, hopefully.

Yes this is what I’m waiting for. Mostly Ball and Mullins, everyone else is consistent enough. Also if these two guys are on, it opens everything up for everyone else. I do believe.

It’s been a losing formula because teams either took too long to get into it or didn’t have the talent to pull it off. This was Seton Hall and Georgetown, not Michigan and Duke.

Just watched the replay noticed that just about all of solos shots are coming up short. His jumpers and those last couple of free throws. The wrist injury might be affecting him more than he and the team is letting on.
