Yes, it's 100% a coincidence that coming off a National Championship with the number 1 recruit in the country and a ton of talent that after a 4 game losing streak with back to back games in the 40's that the one of the most competitive basketball coaches in the history of the game walked away.

Not Blaneys fault, but he doesnt do anything either. He never has shown any abilty to do anything besides "not completely screw things up". I was so pissed when I found out hed be coaching and not Ollie. What is there to lose? Blaneys upside is we go .500. At least Ollie could potentially pull some stirngs and push some players or something, anything. Now all hope is lost. Season's over.

lets chill a little bit because first UCONN never plays well against Louisville away they seem to match up well with us and we can never find a way to beat them away. We would have lost this game with Calhoun just the same. Second, I wouldn't wan't Blaney coaching a high school team let alone the pinnacle of college basketball.

P.S. What makes you think Ollie is ready to be a head coach. Have you seen him on the bench, he looks as lost and clueless as Drummond does in the post. No way you can trust Ollie to win you games, not that it really matters because it all comes down to the players to execute in the end despite all the coaching in the world. However starting Olander and playing 2 little guard lineups every game he coaches will not cut it. When will that guy learn that 2 under 6 feet guards will expose us defensively, and an Olander who deserves a seat next to Daniels right next to Michael Bradley on the bench

We certainly weren't playing well for JC but this is a freaking joke and would never happen with Calhoun coaching. Blaney just stands there with his arms folded and no change in expression no matter what. You know what it's not all on George but in a tough conference, away at a crazy loud place he watched the referees let louisville do what they want right in front of him. Ceva traveled a dozen times last night (at least) and there were moving picks galore. Make the refs know you're alive and seeing it, show some passion for a call which went against Boatright when Boheman ripped him at the foul line extended and yet he was called? Show some life for your team, get thrown out if you have to please.....no help there but not the reason!

Saying JC walked away is beyond stupid. I'm going thru a spinal condition myself with a recent MRI and am waiting for the results now. My situation is bad but doesn't sound as bad as Jim's, still far from good and it needs to be fixed . We've know Calhoun for years now and nobody is tougher and when the going gets tough he would be the last to quit. Whaler your nuts. I also believe that George needs to show some life . We know his style has always been low key but he does need to show some life and yes get thrown out ,too something ,anything too show your alive out there.

There are plenty of valid criticisms of Jim Calhoun but I don't even think his biggest critic would ever accuse him of running from adversity or quitting on his teams.

As long as he holds the title he has there's no way Blaney doesn't coach no matter what happens because to do otherwise is a total disrespect to Calhoun. To me it's not about Blavney's passion for the game but just not making sure his players execute the fundamentals. How many crappy box outs yesterday? No attempt to run plays? Makes you wonder what goes on in practice.

I'm not criticizing him, and I don't know of all that many that would be valid.

I am certain that he has a huge problem. I also know he was the guy who broke ribs on a charity bike ride and still finished. I contend if they were good he'd be on the bench. He's earned the right to choose, and I don't think it matters anyway.
