Geno's Dilemma

The thought of pulling a senior for a freshman just makes no sense to me.
Depends on the particular senior and the particular freshman. In this case you aren't going to replace Lou with Liv, obviously. The challenge is how do you maximize the productivity/shortcomings of each given Lou's injury and Olivia's newfound confidence and productivity.

As an aside, boy has Lou been snake bit over the years. Her homecoming game, her senior game and her final college games. My heart goes out to her.

But you read and post on the BY. Thus, you are a bb expert.

I clearly admit that I am no basketball expert. I clearly admit that I cannot read Geno's mind. I clearly admit that I do not second Geno because he is the General in charge and that it is his right. I post when I see people trying to read this guys mind and second guess what is good or bad for the team. And when I see a wackjob post. I am a viewer of UConn Women's basketball, because I graduated from this University in 1964 and it seems that from a sports perspective it provides pride. And, it is nice to see their pursuit of excellence. You must be the elitist expert that knows it all.

Not only should ONO sub for KLS but I believe Mikalya Coombs needs get minutes if not for anything else but to spell starting five. I think MC and ONO can give us strong minutes on Defensive of end and allow the girls to catch second breath for final stretch.

1 more thought

2 negatives from last UCLA game that shouldn’t repeat here

1. Collier at the FT line

2. More TO’s than UCLA (15)
3 each from Lou, Phee, MW

My post was sarcastic, and not directed towards you.

I particularly enjoy your posts as worthwhile.

I never attempt to "tangle" with any individual poster, unless they are a RU or BCU fan.

Yes, she can play like she did Friday. (maybe a couple less missed shots)
Hey- is that the golf course at Sugarloaf. I went there to hike the AT, but I didn't get to play it.
My best friend from college has a cabin at Belgrade Lakes. I've played there twice. You ever play there? I love Maine. Spent a winter in Kittery when I was 13. My sister went to U of Maine. Awesome.
My avatar was given by an administrator. Nan thought probably Temery posted it. I attempted a few times to post a shot from my dock and was unsuccessful. Yes, I play Sugarloaf every year at least once. I live on one of the Belgrade Lakes and have played at Belgrade Lakes many times. I grew up here and upon retirement, we came home. I spent most of my life in Ct.
Go Huskies, I love them and miss seeing their games in person ALMOST as much as I miss the Grandkids still in Ct.

I can change it if you want

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
What a ludicrous thread.
Nope. This was the perfect mojo thread. Really you want to replace your all American senior with a talented but unproven freshman. Well let's just show you the error of your ways...

Trust the mojo.

,,,,, Which suits to bring to Tampa ?

No suits. UConn gear only. But do bring your rain gear. Its forecast to rain Friday thru Tuesday. Temps will be in the mid 80's.

Yes ,this is Geno s dilemma . He will have to at some point pull Lou and go with Olivia if he wants a chance at winning today. Liv has a nice midrange shot. I feel bad for Lou but if he wants his best chance to win then he will need to go with Liv. Geno knows Lou is not much help as he stated in his press conference. My guess is he goes with Lou to start and if still more of the same then he pulls her for Liv early. We will have to wait and see...hopefully Liv does not get in quick foul trouble too

What did you and Bajan Best say?

Katie Lou had no dilemma. She was as cool as a Kellogg's corn flake, floating in a bowl taking movies. Talkin' to a raisin who occasionally plays L.A.

That should depend on who the players are. In the case of UConn, no. The year should not make a difference as much as the experience and talent does.

I agree. As we recall from watching the previous game with Louisville both the quickness peremeter shooting created problems for the Huskies. Sam Fuehing has been playing extraordinary really well and that will certainly keep Phee's hands full on the defensive end. Whie I was impressed with the play of Williams in the first half of the UCLA game and of course Crystals heroics in the fourth quarter I'm just not certain how our guard play matches up. This will certainly be an exciting game to watch. I really thought UCLA had a great opportunity to beat are huskies. Kennedy Burke demonstrated the impact of an athletic thoughtful basketball player. Sam Fuehring presents more problems than Kennedy Burke. Less than 2 hours to game time and I can't wait. Extremely nervous.
There are times I wish I didn't read some of b_____s these so called fans say.

I'm not at all optimistic about today's game. Without Lou being 100% the chance for a UCONN win is slim to none. Louisville is playing very well right now.

I was a bit down on today game too but boy was I wrong. Too win I said :

1. Lou needs to be Lou
2. We need to score off the break(either by forcing turnovers or Louisville being cold and missing shots and that can start our break)

I was gladly surprised and would like to eat a big piece of crap I'm wrong pie hahaha.

Lou was vintage- I didn't see that coming
We forced turnovers and scored on the break
We had good energy with a short rotation. I think Lou in foul trouble was actually a good thing to et her a breather and have her fresh for the stretch minutes.

Was I the only person that though CD got fouled at the end? A tie up? I was livid.
Walker and CW did just enough,

All that said it was amazing that Louisville was within striking distance all game considering they went 4 for 22 from three, and Durr had an of game. That is kinda the scary part and that does giving me some sight concern....

Great game, great win.
Go uconn

This would have been a brilliant OP (thread) if the poster had been working the mojo. However, I don't think the OP (or some of the others who supported the position) was quite that clever.

It should be pinned to the top though for LOLz. :D

That depends on the Senior and the Freshman, and the abilities of the frosh and extent of injuries to the Senior. DT in the Okla game may have taken the place of a Senior--other games when DT was a frosh. Yes ONO isn't DT--you made a generalized comment--answered generalized. With the specifics of DT thrown in. If you are saying Lou should play and not ONO, that too depends. Some frosh playing in place of Seniors makes sense.

LOL, My topic was simply a projection based on specific scenarios due to the apparent physical health of a very important player. The actual content of my post was mostly questions to the viewers of this board, for which most members tried to share their view(s) in a respectful way, while a few others took it upon themselves to resort to the typical insult throwing response.. (Which I will always ignore)

Thankfully the questions I asked did not have to be answered in yesterdays game, since KLS shot the ball and played (even to the surprise of her coaches and teammates) outstanding/amazing, considering her injury in a two day turnaround. It was certainly special to watch her and all the other huskies perform at the level we know they can.. NEXT! :)

Nope, don’t think so. Freshmen notoriously become deer in the headlights in huge games. Putting that kind of pressure on a young player would be silly
