Ok.. this isn't wcbb news, but in Men's action today.... something historic just happened. Clemson had never won a game in Chapel Hill.. in the entire history of basketball... EVER. 0-59.. they dont play home and home every year......so not sure what year they first played each other in Chapel Hill. But Ladies and Gentlemen.... Clemson just won in Chapel Hill in overtime 79-76

Huge day of hoops in Big South and Southern Conference action. My Spartans of UNC-G survive a surprising battle from Chattanooga and pull out a 49-41 victory. Improving to 13-4... its best start since 1991-1992. My Panthers of HPU go down to Charleston and thrash Charleston Southern 84-70. UNC-A currently leads at Radford 48-28.

Last but not least...... The Mighty Camels of Campbell went up to Hampton and left this
I saw that Campbell was laying the wood on Hampton and figured you'd be happy about it

Some highlights from Saturday's mid-major action:
  • Princeton comfortably passed its first big test in conference with flying colors, a 75-55 road win at Penn. Bella Alarie led with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Penn's freshman phenom Kayla Padilla had an incredible stat line: 27 points on 10-14 FG and 4-7 FG3.

  • Central Michigan survived another stiff test, using a 20-5 run in 4Q to turn back Miami (OH). Micaela Kelly had 29 points.

  • In another key MAC matchup, Ohio won a road game at Buffalo behind Erica Johnson's 22 points. Buffalo's high-scoring freshman Dyaisha Fair was held out of the game for disciplinary reasons.

  • Old Dominion finished on a 9-0 run to beat Charlotte, 54-51. These are 2 of about 5 or 6 teams that seem capable of winning CUSA.

  • In another game between CUSA contenders, Western Kentucky used a strong 2nd half to beat MTSU, 71-63. Raneem Elgedawy had 21 points and Dee Givens had 18.

  • UT Martin beat visiting Belmont, 74-57, behind 34 points from Chelsea Perry. This is the only regular season game between these two and could decide the OVC race.

  • In the Southland, Texas A&M Corpus Christi led the entire game at Abilene Christian to score the upset.
With the proliferation of game threads (13 for tomorrow alone, at latest count), I'm having to give up the effort to link all the game threads.

You must have missed one. I’ll give it a shot.

1/12/20 Sunday Game Threads
(In chronological order)

UCLA has their hands full. Trailing Colorado 15-8 most of the way thru Q1.

USC and Utah tied late in Q1 in the battle of winless teams in conference.

C. Patterson for Kentucky had a nice game of 20+ points. 5 rebounds 4 steals

Is McKinney injured? Rest of the team outside Howard had a miserable day shooting.

DePaul in a bit of trouble. 53-49 St. John's leading early in Q4.

St. John’s has taken a 3 point lead on DePaul after 3Q. Correa and Alston are having good games from 3 and DePaul has cooled off since 1Q.

3-1 Nebraska visiting 3-1 Rutgers. Knights up 35-32 at halftime.

Utah leading USC 34-33 at halftime. This is pretty close to a must win game for the Trojans.

Utah wins 67-65. Provo w/ 17, must be her best game since returning from last year's ACL injury.

USC and Cal are last 2 Pac 12 teams w/out a conference win. Bears host Stanford later today, I don't like their chances.

Final from Elon.. The mighty Phoenix of Elon down the Seahawks of UNC-W 77-53.

Minnesota loses @ Illinois, drops to 1-4 in conference. The Lindsay Era is not going so great.

Rutgers beat Nebraska 69-65. If Indiana wins today they are all alone in first place, if Iowa beats them there is a log jam at the top.

Indiana @ Iowa underway. On BTN, I'll give this a try since I can't bring myself to watch another game that is going on. 6-4 Hoosiers early. I didn't see a separate game thread for this one.

Indiana has clearly been the class of the conference, based on nonconference as well as conference games so far. But Iowa will not be a cakewalk.
