South Carolina 81, Auburn 51… a thirty point win that didn’t feel like one. Seemed like we never got out of second gear. That said, some thoughts:
- The bench gave us 36 points and 23 rebounds. Maddie led all players with 28 minutes, and played her best game of the year, IMHO.
- Makeer was hurt 4 minutes into the game, and never came back in.
- We shot 16 of 17 from the free throw line. Dauda scored all 8 of her points as free throws.
- Tournebize is still adjusting to the pace of play, and we’re still figuring out how to best use her talent. Her potential is obvious.
- Edwards has made huge strides over last year… way more confident in her shot… wants the ball down low.
- Tessa is a better three point shooter than Tehina Paopao was last year… sometimes a little quick on the draw, but going forward teams will not leave her unguarded on the perimeter. McDowell and Latson are also legit from out there, too.
- Okot seems to have accepted coming off the bench without a bruised ego, and when she comes in, she’s productive.
- When we get out of sync, Raven stabilizes things… honestly, our MVP.
