Gamecocks 2025-2026 Season

Can't be any worse than what I see from NHL teams. My personal fave is "lower/upper body injury". Like seriously, could you be a tad more specific???? 🤪
I'm more interested in MLH, especially Boston and Montreal. ā˜ŗļø

So, Latson and Tournabize both practiced this week but it appears that Latson is still somewhat questionable. Does she play or do we hold her out til Texas comes to town this next week? Probably depends on whether the Dawgs keep it close

My guess is we don’t see Tournabize until Coppin State . If w build a 35+ point lead today, I guess it’s possible but I don’t expect UGA to rollover that way. They’ll fight hard.

"She played pro basketball in her native France but was very much a bench player. So how will coach Dawn Staley walk that line between teaching Tournebize all she needs to know to produce in Staley’s system — they don’t just have minute-fillers on this squad — and not giving her too much to handle, too soon?"

I watched the Georgia game and was very impressed by Agot. She is much quicker than I expected and finishes well at the rim. Of course, she has a fine perimeter and midrange game. She reminds me a little of Laeticia, maybe not as strong, but perhaps a better scorer. The future looks bright for her and SC.

Yes, Agot is extremely fast and she has extremely long strides. I think she will be a great player.

Better player than Amihere. Not as big though.

Makeer has really surprised me. It looks like she really has bought into the system. I was expecting her to have trouble with dribble penetration, and while she isn't breaking players down 1-on-1, she knows how to read the defense and when to take her chances.

I've got a hunch the coaches will be asking her to grow her PG skills in the off-season, especially if we don't take a PG in the portal. I think she has the intangibles that Dawn likes in a PG.

This is a solid prediction. I like Maddie, but her ceiling still seems like first guard off the bench more than a future starter.

I think she means she adjusted to the competition level before she replaced Latson?

Course she missed all that time so ...

She's been better than I thought and it's a good thing.

I had a different interpretation. I think she meant the level of competition as a whole, coming in as a freshman regardless if she was a starter.

So, while the depth is still not enough for the Gamecock fans, this team is pretty talented and goes 9 deep. After the Texas loss at LSU and then Vic's whining in the postgame presser, I am firmly in the SC camp for them to win out in the SEC.

Don't get me wrong, SC is still a distant second to UConn in this season of hoop but they are firmly the #2 team in the country.

If I were a voter going with my brain rather than heart I would put UConn, Texas and UCLA (in order) ahead of us at this point. We could be number 2 after Thursday but we’ll see.

When the game’s outcome is on the line, UConn is going to either Strong or Fudd… no question. So who do the Gamecocks rely on when we need a basket… truth is, we spread the scoring around so well, we don’t really have a ā€œ go toā€. And that begs the question… who really wants the ball when the game’s on the line? I’m not sure we’ve ever had to answer that question. From beyond the arc? Maybe Tessa. Inside the arc? Maybe Joyce.

Ta'Niya is used to that role.

Not sure I see a clear argument for UCLA,

I am not sure there is a lot of difference between the three.

Look at their number of Quad One wins vs ours . They have played a tougher schedule.

But, as I said, we have an opportunity to jump them on Thursday,

She's been playing a little backwards this year.

As efficient as she's been I'm not sure her iso sets have a great hit rate. Seems like teams are playing her for the threat.
She dumps the ball to Okot during a fair amount of her iso sets. While they may not end with her scoring, they are productive. I like what I see from her.

Gonna have to put a few dollars on Texas. I'm trying to eat Steak this weekend not peanut butter and jelly sammiches.
