Interesting. It's doable, but I guess it depends on how much it's worth to the league to keep this game.
At this point in time, it could mean quite a bit to the league. USF was the favorite to win the league preseason and missing a game could significantly hurt their chances of making a NY6 bowl. Of course, they haven't looked great to date, but nobody knows how the season will play out.

How ArkState is handling their cancellation:
Ticket exchange and refund options for A-State vs. Miami football game

(Truncated)
>>Six different ticket-exchange or refund options, including three each for single-game and season ticket holders, have been created. Ticket exchanges and refunds will begin Thursday, Sept. 7, through the A-State Ticket Office (870-972-2781), located at the lower red entrance of the Convocation Center.

One of the following options for purchased single-game Miami tickets may be chosen by contacting the Convocation Center Ticket Office:

1) Exchange for equal value to two different remaining 2017 home football games
2) Match single-game tickets for the rest of the season in similar area, based on availability
3) Refund – only available to original purchaser of the ticket. Those that purchased through Ticketmaster.com or Ticketmaster charge-by-phone are automatically refunded within 48 hours. Tickets purchased from 3rd parties or other unofficial outlets are not offered refunds through Arkansas State.

*mini season-plan buyers can treat the Miami game of the package as one of the options above

The season-ticket holder may elect one of the following options by contacting the Convocation Center Ticket Office:
1) A-State will offer current football season ticket holders a 9-game Men’s Basketball and/or Women’s Basketball Sun Belt Conference package that equals the number of their football season tickets. (two season tickets = two 9-game packages).
2) A-State will double your current football season tickets for the remainder of the 2017 season in locations based on availability (two current football season tickets equals two additional football season tickets).
3) A-State will refund 1/6 of your season ticket cost (tickets only). Only available to original purchaser.<<

ALL FSU ATHLETICS EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND ARE CANCELLED INCLUDING SATURDAY’S FOOTBALL GAME. Info: Florida State University :: Special Conditions & Updates

I know that Tallahassee is being used as a FEMA/DMAT staging area. They don't want "extra visitors/vehicular traffic" in the area.

What's the refund policy in this situation?. This home season really sucks this year. Biggest home game of the season cancelled and an away home game in Boston. Lovely.

Mike Anthony: UConn Football Game With USF Canceled, Won't Be Made Up

>>The game cannot be rescheduled because the teams do not share a common bye week. The AAC will not move the conference championship game from Dec. 2 in order to accommodate a UConn-USF makeup date, a conference spokesman said. In the remote possibility that UConn and South Florida are tied atop the AAC East Division and a conference championship game bid is at stake without a head-to-head to break the tie, other tiebreak measures will be used.

The cancellation of this game could have an impact on the East Division race. For example, if either USF or UConn is 6-1 at season’s end, and another team is 7-1, the 7-1 team would earn the championship game bid because division champions are determined by winning percentage, an AAC spokesman said.<<

It's about Benjamins now.

It will be interesting to see how the university is compensated for losing this home game.

.

Since USF could have made the trip and played the game in CT, they are the proximate cause of our financial loss. The conference should calculate the amount of that loss and compensate UConn out of USF's overall share of conference distribution revenues. If their women's teams could travel to away games this weekend without any mention of inconvenience or worry about their families in FL, then the football team could have done the same. Are we supposed to believe the football players and staff care more about their families than the women's golf and tennis teams' players and staff do? Can you say double standard?

And this is not an attempt to minimize the horrible situation in FL by any means. It just seems that USF isn't applying the same standard to all of its teams. For that reason, they should be expected to compensate UConn for any economic loss due to cancelling the football game.

There's no way USF will be held financially responsible for any UCONN loss caused by this game not being played. The AAC cannot take the bad press if they forced USF to pay for not playing in light of the hurricane.

If I'm Benedict, I'm taking a look at any non conference team that had a game cancelled to see if it has a bye week that lines up ours. Particularly if it was a road game for them. There's a shot that we could still get another game in. Tough to get it done by the 23rd though.

>>Aresco said the conference has an insurance policy for these sorts of things, which should help cover the cost of travel and any possible lost revenue by the schools.<<

I think the ACC should compensate UCONN out of their general funds, as it is simply not fair to make UCONN bear the total costs - it should be shared by all members. Also, they should compensate Connecticut in the event they finish the season 5W, 6L for the loss of the opportunity to participate in a bowl game. Maybe 50% of the revenue UCONN would receive if they finished 6 & 6 - based on what bowl they probably would have played in.

That would be difficult since, after expenses and ticket guarantees, most bowl trips end up with losses for the school.
