Game Week 2025: UConn @ Syracuse Orange (Saturday 9/6/25 @Noon @JMA Wireless Dome). Game on ACC Network w/ Audio on Varsity Network & FOX Sports 97.9

One thing I’ve noticed is the Syracuse coach and these commentators seem to know very little about our team - no mention of players - just Mora in many of the comments.

When they said UConn “slower” than Tennessee, yes it’s true. But there are some key positions on the field where this not true and hope we catch them underestimating our star players.

I do agree we’ve got to come out in this game and build a lead and keep them on their heels.

One thing I feel great about is our QB Situation. I like Joe at the helm and frankly after watching Evers last Sat. I am just fine if he comes into the game for any reason. I think we’ve got 2 starting QBs - still firmly believe Joe is our starter.

I have no problem with this being our 2nd game - bring it! Nothing to do w/‘Cuse but we’re ready to play.

For the #HuskiesOverEveryone expeditionary forces…

Who is going to Cuse and where are Husky fans meeting up/tailgating prior to the game. Let's make it a Husky takeover of the Dome!
Went last November so couldn't get a sense of outdoor tailgating scene (bought a parking pass from a Cuse season ticket holder). For an inside option, HIGHLY recommend Faegans, down the surprisingly steep hill from the dome. Ran into quite a few friendlies, including one large table w/players' parents/relatives. And the 'Cuse people were nice as well.

So, Chan, who was not injured or on 2 deep is starting. Must’ve had a helluva practice this week ;)

He played early last week... The posted 2 Deeps look like fluff is all nowadays...

Eleven OL played at least 18 snaps on Saturday which is a big number.
I think we're still unsettled up front (both sides of the ball).. This huge Syracuse test will help us get a much better handle on things...

I think they were building depth. It was good to start the year with an FCS school and the game was not competitive which allowed for a ton of players to get reps. UConn played 69 players which might be the highest number I have seen.

Lord I miss the days when we were in a conference with Rutgers and we had all those "birth canal" fans chirping on our board.

Safety Kamo'i Latu (Utah-Wisconsin before here) seems to be a mystery man. 5 tackles last week, appears to have played a lot of the first half (McLean sub?). But not on PFF snap counts nor on this week's depth chart.

He was graded by PFF. He had 42 snaps and made 3 tackles and 1 assist.

Watching the Syracuse coach this week try to talk about UConn but be peppered w/ questions about the Tennessee loss is painful.

Dang, he’s trying to talk about the upcoming game but these reporters act like this Tennessee loss was like the end of their program.

I get fans are not happy about loss and questions expected but for the love of god, it’s one game folks. The coach looks miserable in these interviews and I don’t blame him. One out of conference road loss, and it’s suddenly the demise of the program?

IMO he is a class act. I want to beat Syracuse but nothing against their team, coach or anything special - just want us to win the game.

Yes, he came on to replace Malachi and played the first half. Then we saw Mills take the Safety position over at halftime.

Even before we pulled the starters, there were more appearances by folks off the two deep than I think we’ve ever seen in a UConn game. No idea if that’s intentionally limiting info to the opponent, laziness in doing the two deep or just that there are more like 30 to 35 guys who are in the rotation rather than 22 at most.

Bill Connelly has us in his games to watch during the Saturday afternoon window, and gave us some respect here

"Syracuse alternated between wobbly and exciting in last week's loss to Tennessee, but the Orange will need to get their feet underneath them quickly because UConn made loads of big plays last week -- yes, against Central Connecticut, but still -- and is good enough to make this one a near-tossup."
