If you’re going to tease it that much, might as well just take the money line, no? Always thought taking the money line is the best way to bet, nice and simple

Everytime something seems obvious…you quickly find out why the lines are where they are..but It’s tempting. And… I hate rooting for the game to be close…and for low points. I would rather root for a blowout and more points.

Or Neuheisel was offered the position and now you are seeing damage control. Who really cares. Mora seems to have a good relationship with his coordinators. The only worrry if either is offered a significant increase in salary to go P4.

->The Owls’ first bye week came at the appropriate time as the team can now regroup and heal up before the non-conference finale against UConn. In terms of health, nobody needed the bye week more than the quarterback room. Rice didn’t just lose by 48 to UTSA — the Owls lost three quarterbacks in that demolition. Starter Chase Jenkins exited with a left leg injury, then Drew Devillier exited with a shoulder injury, and true freshman Patrick Crayton Jr. rounded out the misfortune by leaving the game to get stitches. Fourth-stringer Lucas Scheerhorn finished the night for Rice, and that leaves the question — who will start Saturday?

Rice head coach Scott Abell did not specify the extent of the injuries but implied Jenkins and Deveillier are day-to-day while Crayton is fully cleared. Abell also stated that Rice may play multiple quarterbacks as Jenkins and Devillier are limited in different facets due to the nature of their injuries. Jenkins started all seven games this fall, spearheading Abell’s new gun spread option offense as the most mobile option. The 6’5”, 228 pound Devillier is more of a traditional pocket passer, earning his lone collegiate start last October at UConn.<-

Brad Robbins was quarterback coach/passing game coordinator and he left to become the offensive coordinator at Tulsa. So UConn was looking for a new quarterback coach/passing game coordinator and it wouldn't surprise me if Mora approached Neuheisel to see if he wanted to be a candidate because Neuheisel played under Mora at UCLA. Ultimately Pryce Tracy was hired. So the job was quarterback coach/passing game coordinator, not offensive coordinator.

Nope. I would bet real money that he was offered the QB Coach job not the OC position. There wasn’t an OC vacancy last spring, there was a QB coach vacancy.

Again who cares. Mora has a good relationship with both coordinators. The main concern if either is offered more money at a P4 program.

For example Brock is being paid less than $300k. He might like working with Mora but if someone offers him a 50% raise he will leave.

He’s a non-factor because he’s a WR and they run the triple option. If you look at his rushing numbers, you’ll notice he has two touchdowns.
 
I watched Rice earlier in year and the exotic looking running game was working against whoever it was they were playing. I remember being concerned because our run stopping defense has not been good and continues to not be very good. For that reason I am still concerned. I hope I am wrong.

Bell said he isn’t surprised at all that the Huskies are stringing together wins. “It is satisfying, but we expect to do it,” he said. “I would say all week in practice we are executing and hitting our plays and making the right reads. We are catching the ball well and doing all the right things. So, on Saturdays it only makes sense for it to come to fruition in front of everybody like it is now.

Hopefully they can start this game ontime and avoid some weather issues.

Still like our chances to put up numbers and like the over. A second road win sets us up nicely for a trap game against UAB who's sitting home watching us today. But at least we're at home next week and they have to travel like we are today. The run game will be very important and of course tackling. Expect no help from the refs (as usual). But if we avoid turnovers and don't sleepwalk through the first half we should be good .

They are refs that we hired. Should only be a problem when playing an ACC team.
