Someone said BC thinks highly of themselves. That is an understatement! I was at a wedding the other day. The groom was a BC grad. His buddies were concerned about how they’ve become non-competitive. Several of them think they should consider dropping down to FCS and joining—wait for it—the Ivy League! I almost spit out my drink.

ivy league? oof.
the assumption that joining is an automatic yes, and would depend on THEM (BC) wanting it, is bold.

UConn has a better chance of getting an invite to the B1G at full share, in the summer of 2026, than this does of happening lol


yeah, we need to destroy them this weekend.

This is all over their fan site BC Interruption. Several fans talk about how they are equivalent to the Ivys. My favorite was something like "BC is Harvard during the week, Alabama on Saturdays." Totally delusional

I hate to bring this up but I'm advancing in age and memory isn't all that good.
Past couple of years, even as UConn has improved overall, did they not struggle first few series coming out of bye weeks?
Seems like us fans were up in a tizzy over both sides of the ball looking sluggish amd not firing on all cylinders.

You're not wrong. The last 2 years coming off the bye week UConn lost to Wake Forest and South Florida. In Mora's 1st year, UConn won coming off the bye week...the opponent was BCU, so in this case I hope history repeats itself vs. BCU (in terms of us winning).

Great stuff. There are also a lot of folks over there realizing that bcu needs a reality check and we agree. At the same time I don't think bcu is as bad as some claim. They played Berkely, Stanford and Mich St close. Not exactly murderers' row but P4 nevertheless. This would be a major victory for UConn. Be the ball. Go Huskies!!

Against Pitt, they ran 24 times and passed 30 times. Against Clemson, they ran 32 times and passed 29 times. They did not abandon the run.

Some things you just can't make up but enjoy the laugh. Of course all coaches want to speak nice, nice of the up coming opponent.
Coach Bill O'Brien states " I think they should be favored this week they have more wins than us".
Preseason strength of schedule had BC @ #17 UConn @ 103. I think that kiss up is a bit of a stretch to say the least.

I honestly think he's just worried about losing his job. I'm sure he knows this is a "must win game" in the minds of their fans and administration, just as I'm sure he knows we are definitely capable of beating them. But if he loses he might actually get canned, it has been nothing but bad vibes around that program for the past month.

Saying we should be favored is a nice way of paying respect to Mora and the squad while hinting that this will not be a walk in the park and they may lose.

The majority of Eagle fans are not expecting a victory and realize the game could actually get out of hand. The defense is on their 3rd and 4th deep due to injury and the offensive line has only jelled in one game.

Well, I like this. I’m still unsure. We need to show up on a road game against a team like this. I am thankful we have Joe quarterback + some experience on the team. We already know what it’s like to lose games that we should’ve won - like what I’m seeing last couple games.

Good press conference. What else could he say. Not everything goes the way coaches plan for. I hope we drub them this weekend but nice job handling the questions.
