UConn's defense is good but too many missed shots. UConn is getting good shots but rushing them.

Seems like whenever the defense is in zone we start missing the layups. Knocking down some 3s would help with that.

They're getting to the basket but missing layups.
 
This American conference commercials cracks me up when they get to the Houston girl who apparently cannot control the volume of her voice. "Chasing greatness!"
 
I wonder if this team is putting too much pressure on itself. Some days we look like world beaters, other days, we really struggle out the gate. USF is NOT a team who should be able to play even with UCONN for 20 minutes. Not when you have Stewie, Mo, Morgan, KLS and Kia. I"m not saying I'm overly concerned, but for all our complaining about other teams "not looking good" in their conference tourneys, we are laying an egg right now..

I think championship games are supposed to be tough. :-)

Eh, it depends on the conference. We're playing a caliber of opponent that P5 teams would face in the semis of their conference tournaments.

Wow, dumb foul by Courtney Williams. Will the refs call an intentional foul?
 
Kia's missed a couple she should have made, but is playing an excellent floor game. a lot of stuff that never gets into the box score.
 
Take note coaches: Play a 2-3 zone where nobody chases the cutters and crossers, and hold the ball for nearly the entire 30 seconds on the other end.

That foul was all kinds of intentional. C. Williams wrapped her arms around Stewie's waist, nowhere near the ball, as she went up for the shot.
 
I get that USF is a good team. But the way they are playing UCONN, they are at least an elite 8 team. I realize you can't use MOV, and maybe their familiarity with UCONN is giving them an extra boost to be able to keep with us, but it's hard to imagine a team who lost to SJU, Miss State, Memhis, Temple, and L'ville by 17 could give UCONN this much trouble...

good call. I would think we'd want Lou to come out further and take 3s...

USF has really good guards and aren't so much dependant on the post. Those are the teams that give the Huskies trouble.

Good point. ND is another great example of that. I really hope USF goes far in the tourney. Rooting for them big time!
