We need to have a "Team UConn" in the WNBA...talk about a dominant squad! We're back on the floor with Moore, Taurasi, Bird and Charles...
 
Maya with the ball leading the break is not always the best thing .....;)
 
God I am loving this....watching all my favorite Huskies again.......with some Siemone, Angel, Lindsay, Catch, and Candace thrown in for spice....

More comfortable lead for Team USA. Keep up the defensive pressure and win by 30 plus points.
 
Maya is better finishing on the break than leading it. I love seeing her out there with Bird and Taurasi!
 
Looks like the "UConn Dream Team" is responding best to Geno's coaching in this game. They've been out there for the best stretches of USA Basketball so far.

Was that 5 offensive rebounds in one possession? And no basket - but Lindsay gets fouled and makes the free throws!

Siemone with some razzle dazzle and pass to Tina who for once...missed the shot
Score is 68 41 Us if course
 
USA all of a sudden has been playing bunch in the paint and missing shot after shot. CZE got 6 points but now the score is 70 47 with seconds
 
and that's the score at the end of 3Q

Yes - the middle in traffic is not her best spot at this level. Much more dangerous receiving ball while she flies down the side :D
 
Mass substitution - Maya, Tina, Dee, Tamika and Sue. It's the UConn folks, plus 1 again!
 
Is it me or does CP seem distanced these games, I'm not disparaging her, but she misses some bunnies and I noticed she was the first one off the floor.

Everyone has off games. two games ago, she was the star. She will be back

didn't notice the distance, and the whole team was missing bunnies today.....

I liked her hustle today. Lots of rebounds, hustled on defense and she actually dove to the floor in a scrum for the ball.. So she's part of the team in my mind and deserves kudos.
 
Candace's minutes/the timing thereof have been erratic as well. Can make it hard to get into a consistent rhythm.

Sloppy game. Not a good showcase for WBB, especially juxtaposed with the 40 minutes of unmitigated awesomeness the men produced last night. obviously, the women aren't going to have the physicality and hops the men do, but hitting open shots and finishing at the rim just have to happen. Nothing from this game suggested they're going to be seriously threatened down the stretch of this tournament, but you also want to look good doing the job. Right now, the US is coasting with energy and depth. Everyone plays extremely hard (if not always with precision), and the team goes 11-deep with players who'd be starting for every other country.
