Awesome, just awesome. 4 after 3 was the "we are doing just fine" level, and we got that.

Ref gave us some help too. Those last 4 minutes were an eternity.

Any chance things improve between donovan and team usa in time for the world cup (if we make it that is)?

What do you mean improve? He is not playing soccer right now. He will start in the next few days, and if he plays like Donovan, he will get the call in June.

Take the point and get out of dodge! First questionable penalty Hernandez totally embellished ... Second one probably should have been given.

Be nice to get him back for the June games...

Guzan definitely saved the game for the US. Outshot, 19-1?

At the 60 min mark it was all about the draw, maybe even before. It was an interesting performance from the US. They assumed an attacking posture without actually attacking in an way, shape or form.

Mexico clearly has this team outclassed and I was surprised they didn't get better finishing and that they didn't attack Cameron's side more than they did. Beasley almost got burned a few times but held on well. I have no problem with him there given past history at LB. The second penalty was an obvious one.

Besler wasn't a name I'd heard before, but he seemed to be in position and had Chicirito covered most of the night. Definitely need to see him again. Gonzales played a decent game as well. Cameron is struggling at RB.

Edu had two bad giveaways but otherwise had a decent game. Still think he's at best a utility guy off the bench.

Zusi was OK, made a few good plays tracking back, but we'll need him to be more of an an offensive threat.

Gomez, Dempsey, Bradley all average to.below average games. Altidore slightly.better until subbed out when the US went into draw mode.

Second qualifying point in Azteca ever, so no worries.

I think it's a game they can learn from and build on. Good in the back but need to be a little better in the counterattack. Some good passing and possessions. Donovan helps with passing, quick counters and corner kicks for sure. He makes everyone else better and Dempsey and esp Altidore need a guy to open up space for them. That's why we don't score more. Otherwise the team is getting deeper but we need another world class scorer/playmaker or two to make us a real threat.

A little misleading ... 19 shots but only 3 on frame. While Guzan played very well, I wouldn't necessarily say he saved the game for the US. It was really just a solid, well organized, ugly performance by the US ... with a few poor Mexican finsishes sprinkled in. The Zusi "back check" was also a highlight.

Considering the injuries and other absences (I'm looking at you, Donovan) getting a draw in Mexico is a huge result. I am glad to see the next crop of player performing respectably and our depth improving.

We now need to get a "difference maker" to move up to the next level.

Mexico had a lot of opportunities and had the offside trap beat a few times because of a staggered back line, but the recoveries where there most of the night. I like the three young CB's so far, Bradley and Dempsey. Everyone else needs to work on something.

Point!!!!!!! Ugly, lucky, but still a HUGE road point. We need to get healthy come June and pull at least 7 points out of a possible 9 at Jamaica, v. Panama, and v. Honduras.

16 total points is usually the magic # to finish top 3. (Maybe a little lower this year with so many early draws). It will still be US, Mexico and either Panama/CR top 3, with one of Panama/CR v. New Zealand in a play in home/home.

No Castillo Cherundolo Spector Chandler or Jermaine Jones. Throw in Donovan. Beasely held his own. The keeper saved the game.

Take the point and get out. Best of what we could do here folks.
