A nationally televised Prime Time game, should have the head of officials there to make sure the officials don't become the game. College women's game has enough problems, without dumb officials ruining the game between 2 top teams.
 
Suppose should be fortunate there's a nine point lead with how the Refs are calling the game and with the Baylor flops. Stef and Bria can't afford to pick up their 4th foul early in the 2nd half.

Also surprising there's only a 2 free throw and foul called difference. 12 Fouls and 10 Free Throws for UConn Baylor 10 Fouls and 12 made free throws. The fouls on Odyssey's three point shot attempts were foolish fouls. Its just that Baylor has flopped more and some contact by Baylor on the UConn players weren't called because the UConn players didn't flop.
 
Maybe Mulkey should spend more time coaching players not named Sims, and less time at the Dollar Store buying those outfits! :rolleyes:
 
worst reffing worst announcing... I think Baylor is playing Baylor and boy is Baylor good (even though they are losing).
 
So let's see what happens in the second half. If it is like many games, the refs will swallow their whistles letting obvious contact go (even more than before) and Stef, Breanna, KML will get mauled.

I agree with you. My fear is that those 2 players are now hamstrung by having 4. I just think it's better to find a way to keep them from getting that third. If they foul out he's going to have to go to the bench.
In both instances I think they should have known better. Both fouls were avoidable, particularly Hartley's.
 
The officiating has been atrocious but we have put ourselves in a position to let them make the call on at least 5 calls.

Not to mention they were pretty much phantom calls.
 
Didn't get to watch the first half, but I like our chances to make halftime adjustments better than their chances to make adjustments. When you don't have any made FG in the last 15:00+ minutes of the half, it means the opponent is dominating you on your end.

That's not likely to change bc of a halftime talk.
 
I'm asking for a lot. ....But hopefully when the refs saw the flop by McKenzie they will realize what a bad call that was in their part AND how bad Baylor is flopping
 
Whatever gave anyone the idea that Dee Kantner was a good official ????????

Bad calls against both teams. The Dolson charge the girl didn't flop she just slipped. Horrible call against KML. Robertson flopped big time.

BB fouled sims but the second foul was phantom.
 
If Stef or BS pick up foul # 4 early in the second, Kiah will need to play huge. But she is a stong defender and rebounder. I have faith she can manage quite well.

Wish we had Tuck though...
 
How many more shots does Sims force & fake to be fouled this half? Acting...
 
Maybe someone will pull the refs aside and tell them to knock it off. In a game like this, I guess Geno's poor coaching decision came from NOT teaching his kids to flop.

First, I said after the Kentucky game, that the Refs would determine the outcome. Nobody listened to me. Second, trust Geno to make adjustments for the flopping. Third, I don' think it is Dee Kantner making those bad calls. It is mostly the dark haired female Ref. BTW, Robertson is Mulkey's daughter. It doesn't take much to knock her down...
 
As for KML's 2nd foul,
And the Grammy for Best Supporting Actress in a Basketball Game goes to...
 
Breanna! Gotta make those especially when there is no one defending that reverse!

What?!!?!?! An OFFENSIVE foul called on Baylor? Huh, who knew.
 
I'd also like to see Geno totally call out the refs after the game and make a pretty big deal about it and say "screw the fine". UCONN is the biggest and best program in the nation. We all knew Kanter was horrible, but this is something special.
