More tweets. Lou responded to Kevin Demille's tweet.
Haven't heard anything definitive on Emma or on Allemand. Probably forgetting some others. Unclear if they will be suspended or will play after the Olympics. Are there other WNBA in the same position as Gabby? Emma Meeseman maybe?
Is Bria Hartley still on the French national team? (can't find their current roster other than in Wikipedia)
If that's true, I think Stewie and Lou would lobby for their friend and former teammate.Frustrating that we wont get to see Gabby at all in the W this season, but happy that it looks like she is very likely to play at the Olympics.
Based on the articles I've seen about Chicago trying to trade her and the response from people close to Gabby around this "suspension", its seems likely that Gabby wont be playing for Chicago again.
The Courant article said something about $70,000 kicking in this season. Sometimes these things are not so clearChicago Sky

What went into your decision to play overseas in the first place?
Honestly, it’s the money. I hate to say it, but financially, if I have to choose, it’s a no brainer. I play overseas. I read a recent Breanna Stewart interview where they asked her why she was going to Russia to play, and she said the real question is, “Why would I come back to the WNBA? I get $900,000 from the Russian team I play for.

Gabby Williams Discusses Life Under Lockdown in France - Just Women's Sports

Here comes the Alyssa Clark defensive stopper replacement who has recently been voted first team all-star in the EuroLeague as well as Defensive Player of the Year.If that's true, I think Stewie and Lou would lobby for their friend and former teammate.
Of all the players I have seen at UConn, I love Gabby the most. Starting her freshman year after missing the last two years of HS BB from injuries and still rehabbing from surgery, the growth from uncertainty on the court to commanding performances during her junior and senior years against opponents of all sizes and skill sets......are indelibly etched in my memory. Last second losses in the FF cannot dim them.
But I will root for Gabby anywhere she goes....it's kind of like "I love you forever thing...."Geez. Rooting for LA is just too much.![]()
The Wolfpack is the name of the NC State team. Nevada-Reno are the Wolf Pack. The Wolfpack did their best, but it wasn't enough to beat the Huskies.

Meanwhile, it is instructive to read the gibberish of the Chicago coach seeking to explain the inexplicable approach he had to Gabby's situation. The print is tiny so click into Twitter and click on the Q & A and it'll get readable.
I'm a Rebel and hate the Wolfpack, it's the nicest name we call them. The Wolfpack is the name of the NC State team. Nevada-Reno are the Wolf Pack.
He sounds like hack. Running one of your best players off the team is no recipe for success. He may not be eloquent but this all worked out well for Chicago.
He freed up a roster spot and ensured that Gabby can't play for a rival this season. And instead of cutting her for nothing he got at least a modest return back for a player he wasn't going to have cap space to re-sign anyway.
