G6 School Pecking Order

What do you see as the pecking order for current G6 schools/UConn in terms of getting an invite to either the Big 12 or ACC?

Among the current G6 schools, which ones offer more value than their current conferences pay out? (So we are looking at moving from one G6 conference to another G6 conference that might pay more). To me, it seems like CUSA is at the bottom of the pecking order, the MAC, new Mountain West and Sun Belt follow, with the new PAC-12 and AAC on top.

Will more CUSA teams leave for greener pastures? WKU and MTSU might have some value, and Delaware is just on an island out there by itself. Will anything come of the Ohio University to the Sun Belt talk? Toledo was previously mentioned as a target of the Mountain West, will anything come of that? Will the PAC-12 be able to pick up UNLV or Air Force after the next MW media rights contract ends? Will the loss of UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and SMU hurt the next AAC media rights contract so much that they fall back on par with other G6 conference payouts, thus making those schools more susceptible to a raid?

What G6 schools in current G6 conferences add value to other G6 conferences and might be seen as an expansion target?

I was thinking about G6 conferences after recent moves of Tejas State from Sunbelt to PAC and Louisiana Tech from C-USA to Sunbelt. That seems to be the pecking order. Geography aside, I suppose it might be a good move for Texas State because of the PAC brand and all members being large "State" univerisities, but leaving a southeast conference for a west coast conference seems like a bad move. Same for Norther Illinois.

I think CR has a case of "the grass is always greener." UConn & USF should be the biggest P4 targets and would add value to any other G6 conference

With rumors of some of the MAC schools wanting to change conferences. It proves just how wildly unpopular of those MACtion games are mid week in November. Can you imagine attending a game on a Tuesday night in mid November at the Rent. You would have to depart early from work, rush to the stadium, set up your tailgate in the dark, watch the game, drive home, and then go to work the next day. Those midweek games on ESPN are just not worth the exposure.

The teams that are not SEC or B1G will get relegated much less favorable time slots in the future...(ND excluded from that caution)...ESPN is all in on the SEC and says as much about their prime property...FOX as well with the B1G.

Don’t forget that any night in November in CT would be uncomfortably cold, even in this warming climate. They are dealing with that in Ohio, Michigan etc. in the MAC. I’m at the point in my life where I’d probably pass on going to those games given the cold and darkness.

When I was 25, no problem. Now I prefer a nice dinner, cocktails, a couch and a comically large tv at home.

If UConn continues to make (and win) bowl games, they've got a good claim to #1 school on the outside looking in. Memphis and USF are also in contention. Maybe toss SDSU in there as well.

I think Cal and Stanford should be in Big Ten.
Wake, SMU, UCF demoted to G(whatever).
Cincinnati, Louisville, Houston, Memphis belong in the same Gwhatever conference. Potentially also demote Pitt and Syracuse to this “city” conference.
UConn, West Virginia, and Tulane belong in the ACC.

My nephew is going to UMass. I helped him with his application. Drove him to the tours and accepted student day.

My only request was that we go to that game.

Regardless of the fact that all these decisions are made by people have an overly inflated sense of self worth for their college programs, they will not deem us worthy of inclusion no matter how successful our teams are. I predict that we are going to be in the ACC by 2032 or 2033. With UNC making overtures now to go with Clemson and Fla. State. they will need to bring us in when everyone leaves for greener pastures... and they will leave. Listened to ACC Locked on sports and it was hosted by the bottom tier programs and they think it is a forgone conclusion that they leave.
