I’m thrilled we are 6-3 and bowl eligible. But let’s not lose perspective. The six teams we’ve defeated (excluding any games today) have a combined record of 17-30.

I was frustrated with Evers' running for most of the game to the point of beginning to question his ability in that regard (due to his injuries I reserved judgment in prior games). However he had a couple of nice decisive/aggressive runs in the 4th quarter including the TD that give me some hope.

I'll take being ranked better than #100 (Massey at #95) and better than the team UConn beat in NCAA championship (per Massey Purdue is #96). That is progress from last year's #127 and the team does look better, more talented and better coached.
Could be 8-1 with better QB play but could also be 4-5 with a few bounces of the ball.
Likeable coaching staff and players, work hard, at some point you pick plays/players and strive for good results.
Overall, 1st year in quite a while see an actual college football team representing UConn.
Would have been nice to make that easy interception.

6-3 is a good place, no doubt better than recent history.
Congrats to HCJM and his staff and to all the players.
However, this team is fragile in many areas, and QB play is most glaring. NE hasn't played a lot of D1 ball, he has had his bell rung a few times and has an extremely inaccurate arm. I feel he is not the QB that UConn should be counting on for the next few seasons to lead them to success.
I would like to see HCJM seek a QB as if UConn is in a league like the SEC or BIG12. I dont think NE or JF fit that bill. Perhaps the Texas Slinger would, but how do we know? The freshman could participate in limited in game action and still retain a redshirt status. Why hasn't UConn given him a look?
UConn is bowl eligible and that is a good thing. We have to take the little steps to get to the promised land.

The teams we’ve lost to beat teams that beat ND, Bama, Kentucky, auburn and va tech.

And 6 of those combined losses are to …..
And Rice is getting closer to adding 6-1 Navy to that list...

Love the win, but QB play continues to be poor. Less than 100 yards passing, what are we Army.
Oh to have the undefeated record of Army and be ranked #21. It's not how you get it done but the fact they get it done. ;)
This post made me sad, for those kids and for the Huskies. What do you tell these kids at the end of the season? Too early for that, but my mind went there.
My Husky heart goes out to your @ZooCougar post. It is now the new world order and not what the young men are told at the end of the season but what they say. I'm entering the portal, or I need more NIL money. That and here is what I have been offered, can you beat it?
Saw Cuse beat VT today, this with a star player that left Cuse for a season in the SEC only to transfer back. No longer an amateur sport.

We are a stepping stone for coaches and players, with a few die hard fans with dreams of the big time. I being one.......

so you're saying we're going to get quality players who are going to want to prove themselves?

Got sidelined twice by concussive injuries. Since returning, thought he has been playing tentative, skittish, tight, scared probably as a result of head whacks. When he got absolutely nailed while on the ground, thought he’d be out. To his credit, got up, dusted himself off and thought he actually looked better from that point forward.

“Thanks, I needed that”???
I saw the same thing. his runs before "the slide" were tentative and he was basically tackling himself 1-2 yards passed the line by diving for no reason. After he slid and got hit, his runs seemed more assertive in running.

Yeah....and in years past, they would now have a combined record of 23-24.

So there's that perspective.

Maybe Evers will continue to improve, but I don't think Mora will go into next season with just one experienced QB so I would expect to see UConn pursue a portal QB. Maybe go after Matt Sluka the Holy Cross/UNLV QB. He wasn't even supposed to make $100k in NIL at UNLV.

As for the portal for next year, UConn lost a couple of good players last year, but I think UConn gained much more through the portal than was lost. So, I'm optimistic about what players the coaching staff can acquire for next year.
