Did you read the article? That's the branding. But when typing it out (like here on the 'Yard), it should be UConn.

It's not a big deal to me, but whatever point you're trying to make is a bit dense.

That is a logo. UConn is the appropriate spelling in prose. BTW, the Washington Post used to be my client. They are idiots. They said the AP Style Guide dictates U-Conn. If the school wants it changed, talk to the AP.
