Only reason it is a tie is that Louisville hit 6 of 7 threes. They were badly out-rebounded. Hold your breath.

This game coming down to the wire. 56-55 Louisville with 40 seconds left

I turned it on and jinxed them...L'ville ahead by 1

Gillespie just got sandwiched. Injured and taken off the court. Her replacement kust sank 2 FT's to take the lead 57-56.

Jeff Walz thought he had Paige ,making the sideline inbound pass. Sorry.

This should be enough to move UCONN past them, but the selection committee is intent on sending Louisville to Fort Wayne. That would unfairly keep them at #5.

Nothing to see here.
Antonelli already declared on tv there’s no way UConn will be in Fort Wayne.
Antonelli has been squawking about the selection committee having all of these weird criteria, but then they seed teams solely on geography. Louisville is a short ride to Fort Wayne, so their record becomes ireelevant.

I’ve never cared for Antonelli and dread each time she’s co-announcing a game!!

There's always going to be a bias towards P5 teams. Just something we will always have to live with.

THe real issue is the committee needs to seed on an S curve and ignore geography and ideally not just the top 8 but the top 16. UConn is probably the 5 seed now but I think Stanford has potential to pass UConn given their potential wins.

No chance! Stanford would have to win out to pass UConn, that ain't happening! If UConn wins out, they are the #5 overall seed and should be the #2 in Fort Wayne.

Geography has virtually ZERO to do with the seeding of the Top 8 teams. The committee has stated a desire to rely strictly on an S-curve for Top 8 seeding. That is not saying they won't screw UConn, they have in the past and it would not surprise me one bit, but if UConn wins out they should be the #2 in Fort Wayne.

While I agree with you, Charlie Creme declares that Louisville is locked into Ft. Wayne because of geography. The committee will keep them at #5 despite their loss to adhere to the S curve.

Louisville has worse losses than UConn but better wins. Which do you put more emphasis on?

Louisville beating Oregon is the difference, imo. Had they lost that game UConn is probably ahead of them.

In retrospect, it might have been better if Louisville won the tournament since they won't be dropped out of Ft. Wayne. If Maryland loses, the committte might have moved Louisville to the #1 seed in Ft. Wayne & moved UCONN the 1st #2 seed in that region.
