We’ll be ones who will tell other schools if they’re a blue blood or not.

Indiana, Duke, Kansas, UCLA….make your cases now.

look at me threat GIF
I was going to post the exact same GIF last night, with the same point! The blue blood stuff is last century nonsense. We are THE program now.

.-.
True Bloods. We don't need to count titles from the Jim Crow Era to boost our total. We aren't leaning on trophies won when the field was less than 32 teams. Hell, in our case, not less than 64 teams. They can take comfort in their blue blood title. We are National Flag Blue True Bloods.

Do you have as many championships -6 or Final Fours - 7 as UConn in the last 50 years? (1975-2024)

It's a pretty short list with no fat on it.

THE LIST:
UConn (6/7)
UNC (5/15)
Duke (5/14)
Kentucky (4/11)
Kansas (3/10)
Michigan State (2/9)
UCLA (2/7) with (0/1) vacated

Others just short or not really close:
Indiana (3/5)
Villanova (3/5)
Florida (2/5)
Louisville (2/6) official with (1/2) vacated
Syracuse (1/6) oh so close but TO>1
Arkansas (1/4)
Georgetown (1/4)
Arizona (1/4)
UNLV (1/4)
Michigan (1/4) official with (0/2) vacated
Houston (0/4)

Maybe you need more than one championship but 7 FF in 50 years is still pretty good. We'll need to work on raising the bar to keep out the riff raff.

I still prefer blue collar, I don't want their names for themselves

We're the best

We're the capital of the college basketball universe

WE'RE TOO GOOD

We caught UNC last night and now we’re coming for their a$$e$ next.
UNC counts one from 1957.
Kentucky counts four from 1948 to 1958
UCLA only has 2 in the last 50 years which will drop to 1 next year.

.-.
I respect those programs and their histories. However, they have no choice but to respect UConn’s program as well. They don’t have to like UConn, but they have to respect them.
Old money does not respect new money. Same concept

I feel like titles before the at large era (1975) when the field was expanded to 32 teams is the start of the modern era. Even Wooden did not have to go through the same gauntlet year after year. Many years. they started essentially at the Elite Eight because they get byes. There was also a time when the NIT was the premier tournament.

Best program over the last 50 years after giving the field a 25 year head start.
The clock should start ticking in 1990. We were a top program throughout the 90's. Best in the Big East, like now.
