Friday March Madness Games

The risk is that you give up an easy 2 off of the offensive rebound (or, worst, case, a 3 off of a kickout), but I agree I can't see a scenario where that's more likely than just hitting a 3 in the run of play.

In that particular play, Florida's #1 was closing a half second late, so it could have turned into a 4 point play too. It almost looked like Florida's player was thinking about fouling but was not sure if he would get there in time.

My god, Tre Mann is having a terrible afternoon. Three boneheaded mistakes in the last two minutes.

On edit: Tre Mann is having an incredible afternoon!

That's the other risk, is that you accidentally foul during the shot (or the ref is generous on continuation).

Bluntly, coaches don't trust their players not to ____ it up.

Duruji did them in.

He was there, then backed off to cover the drive for some reason

You could call a foul on Arkansas on every defensive possession. I know Musselman is one of those old school defensive coaches, but they are just a dirty team. If a player ever went at my knees while diving through me to get to a ball, he would get the Rod Sellers/Christiaan Laettner treatment next time he was on the floor.

Who would have thought sun could be a factor in a college basketball game.

Seriously, on the VT offensive end, there's a stripe on the left wing where a shooter is going to be looking right into the sun.

Castleton got hammered on that. Wow

That is why you always foul down 3. I think it is garbage basketball, but I can't figure out a logical reason not to do it.

I still think a team should never have to shoot FTs. A team in the bonus should be able to choose possession and a new shot clock.

VTech with a terrible possession there.

If those were the rules, then fouling when down 3 wouldn't be a good strategy.

I don't mind fouling to force a team to win the game from the line when a team is up, but i hate that the team that is leading can foul to win the game.

I picked Florida to win in my bracket and cover, but Mike Young is the OG. I freakin' love that guy.

Anyone else catch him congratulating Mike White? Easily my favorite coach in the ACC and Tech is super easy to like.

Georgetown would have been really good this season if McClung had stuck around. Something seems weird about that transfer.

I like Mike White, but have to admit I did miss Buzz William's flop sweat.

Watch this guard from Oral Roberts! Kid can ball!
Yeah Abmas is the real deal.

Oral Roberts has surprisingly amassed a lot of higher end talent over the last few years. Their '20 class had two top-250 recruits and the '21 class has another top-250 recruit.

I can see why. Their offensive system looks like a lot of fun. Not a single senior in their rotation so an interesting mid-major for 21-22 too.

Anyone who thought Colgate had a chance was an idiot. The calls were going Colgate’s way I’d say until about 10 min to go.

ORU played 4th toughest OOC sked this year: Arkansas, Ok St., Mizzou, Wichita St. Surprised they don't play Tulsa every year for local bragging rights.

Why can't we get shooters like Abmas? ;)

Baylor a little tight?
I hope so. Lots of 1 seeds seem to sleep walk through the first half and then figure out they better start treating it like a real game. Let's see how long it takes them to wake. Hopefully this will be one of the rare times they don't and Hartford stays in it.
