Friday March Madness Games

weird injury in the Florida game that I am surprised doesn't happen more often. VTech player made a one handed pass and wacked Florida player on the follow through.

Good thing that Arkansas has a 3 seed, huh? Do you see the refs going in the tank for Arkansas if they were playing a Big 10 or Big 12 opponent?
I really have no interest in having a discussion about seeding/scheduling games. But yeah the refs have been terrible

That had to hurt. Florida player could barely walk to the locker room.

Wojo fired by Marquette

He is an assistant coach, not a head coach. Marquette will upgrade and be a strong program within a year. The roster is in decent shape, which is rarely the case when a coach is canned.

A pet peeve of mine is crappy post entry passes. A player learns that the post pass should come from the wing in about 5th grade, give or take.

It is striking how more balanced and unbiased the officiating is in the SEC vs. ACC game than in the SEC vs. Patriot League game.

Arkansas really sucks. My morning pickup game crew would be up 10 against Colgate if we were getting this much help from the refs.

Refs just stopped a 2 on 1 Colgate break to give Colgate a flop warning on an uncalled offensive foul by Arkansas that happened 3 seconds earlier.

This officiating is an embarrassment to college basketball.

Just put Utah State on. I know little about them this year. Anybody think they have a shot here?
Queta is a beast. Probably 2nd best defensive big in the country this year after Mobley.

Kind of surprised that Florida came back and has a 5 point lead on VT. They haven't looked impressive.

As soon as the Florida big failed to give it up and I saw he was a 54% shooter, I knew he would brick both and give up a 3. It's preordained.

Something about a dunk like that makes Raftery get energized like it's the early 2000s again

That is why you always foul down 3. I think it is garbage basketball, but I can't figure out a logical reason not to do it.
The risk is that you give up an easy 2 off of the offensive rebound (or, worst, case, a 3 off of a kickout), but I agree I can't see a scenario where that's more likely than just hitting a 3 in the run of play.

Is it just me, or does the court seem wrongly oriented. Seems like the court would/arena work better with a 90 degree spin.
