Agreed. But my point was that the SEC usually has many bow out early. I've always questioned why they get so many teams in. ACC and PAC-12 to me have stronger teams.

Let's look at what happened last year among SEC teams seeded #5 or lower in the NCAA tournament:
Mississippi St (5), Tennessee (7), Auburn (9) and Missouri (10) exceeded their seeding.
Florida (5) and Georgia (8) fell short of their seeding.

I'm guessing that if we're disputing the number of bids given to SEC teams, we're essentially questioning whether the SEC teams seeded, let's say, #7 or lower actually belong in the tournament. But 3 out of 4 SEC teams seeded #7 or lower actually exceeded the expectations of their seeding.

I think Miami is probably extra motivated in this game because when the two teams played at FSU in early February, FSU had the game well in hand with a 9-point lead, Shakayla Thomas attempted a dunk with just 1 second on the clock.
 
Good news for Miami is they're up 8 at the half.
Bad news, potentially: One of their two star guards (I didn't catch whether it was Thomas or Motley) left the court with an apparent hand injury late in Q2.

Miss St up by only 1 point on LSU at the half, 30-29.

UCLA has been in control from the outset against Arizona St, currently leading by 12 with 2:30 to go.

I wasn't watching, but UCLA jumped all over Arizona St. 26-7 in the first quarter. Leading 67-53 w/ 3 1/2 to go in the game.
 
Mississippi St. leading LSU 30-29 at halftime.
 
I assume the Arizona Sun will still make the tournament. They are the Pac 12 version of Auburn :confused:

Well ASU did beat Kentucky, the #3 team in the SEC, in Lexington. Did Auburn do that?
 
ASU making it interesting, 72-66 w/ 30 seconds left. If they hadn't dug themselves into a 19 point hole in the 1st quarter...
 
After taking a 13 point lead after 1 quarter, Maryland is letting Minnesota hang around. 35-26, under 6 minutes til halftime.

UCLA wins 77-68. Pac 12 tourney has been all chalk thru 1 1/2 days. OSU-UCLA round 3 tomorrow, they split during the regular season.
 
Mississippi State in a battle. Tied at 37 on the 3rd. Yes. The 3rd!
 
Rizzotti's GW squad suffers a tough loss to Duquesne in the A-10 quarterfinal, 62-58.

They have a chance at an at-large bid, but it's iffy.

:D I agree to a point. But they weren't ranked all year. Missed the AP top 25 twice in the early season and now for the past 3 weeks. Based on resume, they're on the fringes of the top 25 but it's true they haven't figured out how to beat anyone ahead of them in the Pac-12. If it weren't for that road win at Kentucky, they might be closer to the bubble. Remember too that the other teams likely to be seeded #7 and below have major issues as well.

Miami's Davenport misses an open layup and just now Romero popped a 3 to cut the lead to 2. It's going down to the wire.

Wow. Miami hangs on to beat Florida State, 56-54. What a hard-fought game.

That's the second year in a row that Miami has upset FSU in the ACCT quarterfinals. Miami's best win of the year and it could put Miami into the discussion for hosting.

And believe it or not, the loss might be good for FSU in the sense that it might knock them out of that overall #8/#9 seed destined for Bridgeport.
