Not necessarily. Look how long it took Lobo to get into the hall after she left UConn. Her final year in the WNBA was 2003. Admittedly Lobo never had the “shine” that Taurasi or Bird had, so that might shorten their wait time a bit.

She actually changed her number from one season to the next. I believe that CD once got a technical foul for submitting a lineup card on which the wrong number was listed for her.

Looking at the full list of numbers above, there are some other interesting observations:

1. Did we all forget so quickly that Megan Walker wore #3 as recently as a couple of months ago? Must be a repressed memory for all of us.

2. No one mentioned that Megan (Pattyson) Culmo wore #33 when she played.

3. In addition to Kia Nurse, Kelly Schumacher also wore #11. She might give Kia some competition for the distinction of Best Eleven.

I believe that if both Sue and DT both play as a team member of U.S. Olympic basketball in Tokyo next year they will be enshrined very quickly after eligibility. Heck being members for 4 straight Olympics and their records in both College and the WNBA should do the trick, but a fifth should be icing on the cake.

Well, if we have 24 players elected to the Basketball HOF then we are going to have to start worrying about that.

That being said the Naismith HOF still has only a few women in it.
