We still have our T3 rights for a year right? SNY did a Hard knocks style following of the women's team two years ago. Maybe last year as well I don't remember.
HBO did one. I didn’t know there was an SNY one too.

In 2020 the following games are on the schedule in the 1st 4 weeks of Sept.
UMass, Illinois, Maine, and Indiana with the last 2 at home. The best scenario would be to get UMass and Maine to reschedule for later in the year and infill these early dates with P5 OOC games. This is where at least 1 “home and home” thru Fox would be fantastic. That would be 4 P5 games. The remainder of the schedule would be Army, UMass, FCS, Liberty, New Mexico St and then it is any MAC, Sunbelt, CUSA match ups that fit.

BYU would’ve great but they are scheduled out thru 2022. As weird as it may seem, if UConn has to pay full exit fees they may be able to negotiate a couple of AAC games in 2020 and 2021 to fill out the schedule. All AAC teams will have open dates. After the first couple of years the independent scheduling will become somewhat routine. The variable will be P5 opponents.

UConn's football team has exactly zero broadcast value. Why is Fox going to put them on the air? Fox certainly didn't need any sweeteners to convince UConn to move.

There isn't going to be any Fox rescue.

It is unlikely Fox sports would do a promo on UConn football facilities just because of possible affiliation with Big East for basketball. I wonder if it is a UConn sports channel for New York and CT.
Does the Big12 owe Fox a favor???????

I mean UCONN to the Big12 in Football only??????? Can't be, right???????

Yes. There are social listening programs such as crowdtangle that tells you what’s the interaction rate of something is. This is seriously Donne because anything uniform, locker room gets a ton of social interaction.

You ever wonder why Espn, bleacher, Fox, etc. jump on sneaker and alternate uniform photos? It’s because the interactions are very high.
It’s like you don’t even know us John...!

The reason Fox is helping UConn football has nothing to do with UConn football. Fox was losing money on their $500 million NBE basketball package so they hoped UConn will reduce the loses there - to entice UConn to move they will cooperate on football. How much, still unclear to Chief.

Okay yeah the HBO one was more hard knocks style but SNY was right there most days as well, also getting behind the scenes stuff/practice footage/interviews. Even better, we essentially had 2 companies doing it. Better chances that fox could do one haha

It is within the realm of possibility that FOX dangled some football programming help to incentivize UConn moving to the Medium East. But I can’t see how it would be more than some token assistance.

And until we see an agreement in writing this is all just conjecture.

Makes sense. Thinking back room help to get some teams scheduled when they go independent

You guys remember that “Hardknock-esk” thing SNY did for UConn Football back in the Pasquloni era? It actually was really, really cool. Would pay good money to watch Randy & crew each week prepare this squad and make a giant come back from irrelevancy to a winner. The P5 dream/goal for UConn in Football isn’t dead folks. It’s just been pressed the reset button.

We get it dude. You think it's over. But this board never believed it was over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

BYU has dirty players.

Is it too much to think that the AD and the BOT will go the contract with a fine tooth comb?

These people who bash the football program live in denial. Because they know their dream is stupid. Common trait for sociopaths, denial of facts.

I would hope there is something going on in the background because on its face, the decision is total lunacy. Only abject idiots strand a $100 million investment with no plan... but then again it’s Connecticut.
As people have been noting, Fox is giving us a better public presentation than ESPN ever has. With just a tweet and an article about us as an independent.

Funny thing is that Fox article about us as an independent proves the basketball fans wrong.
