FWIW, I think our helmets are better than theirs. If they had no history they'd be laughed out of the building with those.

LOL, yeah and if we had the winningest program in college football history we could wear old milk cartons and they'd be considered cool. I love how the real traditional powers don't feel the need to wear silly uniforms to get noticed. Alabama, Texas, USC, Michigan,Penn State all have pretty boring uniforms. It is newcomers and lesser programs that are attracted to clown suits...almost like the 9 year old who keeps making silly faces in th efamily picture...Look at me, look at me...unfortunately it loses its effect when there are a bunch of kids doing it. Everyone just looks silly.

I love how the real traditional powers don't feel the need to wear silly uniforms to get noticed. Alabama, Texas, USC, Michigan,Penn State all have pretty boring uniforms. It is newcomers and lesser programs that are attracted to clown suits...almost like the 9 year old who keeps making silly faces in th efamily picture...Look at me, look at me...unfortunately it loses its effect when there are a bunch of kids doing it. Everyone just looks silly.

Bottom line - if we win in these unis / helmets - people will be screaming don't change them in 20 years.

It's ridiculousness. UConn was the predominant name used back in the 60's. The only people using "Connecticut" was the national media. And there was no national media until the Big East started.

Nebraska wore Black jerseys in a recent game. Tennessee will wear something called "Aididis Grey," instead of its home orange, in an upcoming game. Just selling jerseys, I guess.

Every thing I've read from various media covering the Michigan game and from Michigan fan posts said in effect wtf were those God-awful helmets. That's the least of my concern. I want the coyote gone and Jonathon the Husky back.

I like the new uniforms; but, I am 50/50 on the new Husky logo versus Jonathan. That said, there are much bigger issues right now with the football team. Afterall, no one cares that Stanford's mascot is a tree when they are ranked #5 in the country.

(for the sake of full disclosure, UMass wasn't always the Minute Men. I believe that until the early-mid 1970's they were the Indians or Warriors (some nickname that was an insult to ntive Americans).
