Former UConn Player Sounds Off

Every thing I've read from various media covering the Michigan game and from Michigan fan posts said in effect wtf were those God-awful helmets. That's the least of my concern. I want the coyote gone and Jonathon the Husky back.

I like the new uniforms; but, I am 50/50 on the new Husky logo versus Jonathan. That said, there are much bigger issues right now with the football team. Afterall, no one cares that Stanford's mascot is a tree when they are ranked #5 in the country.

"but rather the unprofessional, unsupportive and thoughtless manner by which the Administration of the University of Connecticut handled this matter. I owe this much to the existing football staff at UCONN, the high school football coaches in the state of Connecticut and my teammates while at UCONN." Ummmmmm self inflated view of yourself. You're not that important

"Rock stars by nature love the limelight; I’m afraid that’s exactly what we have, a rock star and not a leader" - please back that up with facts please. We've all been critical of Warde but has he ever sought the limelight. I don't think so

"As an athletic director, every time I had to release a coach, I accepted part of the responsibility for that failure. How much responsibility is our athletic director willing to accept in this situation?" - Hopefully zero. Warde did not hire PP and GDL

"And by the way, did I read correctly that our president, Susan Herbst, is on one of Mr. Burton’s corporate boards?" - Imagine that - a high performing executive on the board of another high performing executive's company

As I read this, I kept expecting it to be a link to the Onion. This guy's a joke and as I type, cannot believe I've actually taken the time. Probably more of a reflection on me than him :)

This guy is so full of himself. A real "Back in my day" kind of guy, the way it used to be in "this man's army" and all that crap. What a loser. He should just wear a big L on his back. Complains about everything. Dude, what was it you liked so much about this Pasqualoni driven bobsled flying over the wall? Chronic malcontent.

The latest comment by Jeb on this blog entry is priceless...no mistaking he is an "everybody get's a trophy" guy! I had to respond to his comment. These people who are saying P's firing was unprofessional are really making me laugh! The same people who bought Fiesta Bowl gear by the carload, and wear it around yet cry foul when our s_h_i_**y coach and his side kick get fired for putting the program into the toilet!

Except our old logo wasn't even a husky.

Like this?

That is a game winner right there. GAME WINNER.

I think Vin is right. Let's go back to the 1960's logo. That was awesome.

Yeah, our dog as a Minute Man. What could be better than that?

(for the sake of full disclosure, UMass wasn't always the Minute Men. I believe that until the early-mid 1970's they were the Indians or Warriors (some nickname that was an insult to ntive Americans).

This guy played in the good ol' days when UConn couldn't get a home-and-home with Yale.

UMASS was known as the Redmen. They practically led the political correctness movement by changing the name as far back as the 1970's. I believe Stanford beat them, changing from the Indians to Cardinal before UMASS made their change. Political correctness always happens first in California.

I remember there were idiots who also objected to the Minuteman mascot. They claimed it was a violent (he holds a musket) male image that is undesirable. The inmates trying again to run the asylum.

Well, it IS offensive. Plenty of men suffer from ED.
