FSU is a soccer school with a 1 seed. UConn plays Rutgers in Round 1.

I'm just glad they are back in it for now. That program fell apart from being at the top. The women's team even more so. There was a stretch where UConn and UNC were the only real contenders ever year.

FSU would still be attractive to another conference for all the things that really matter to the gods of realignment. That said, I never believed they would beat the grant of rights and I don't think they believe either.

They dared to dream of being in the P2, we keep dreaming of being in the P4...sometimes delusions are completely out of whack, and sometimes ya get kicked in the nads.

No I never thought they would defeat the grant of rights. The combination of their much publicized fight against the grant of rights, their crying about being left out of the college football playoffs last year, and then their shiiitshow of a season this year has made them somewhat of a laughingstock for this year, not withstanding their big annual TV check for being in the ACC.

I didnt think they’d beat it but I was surprised the ACC didn’t negotiate a settlement. I think FSU’s total collapse this year put some iron in the league’s spine and made FSU kind of RE-think the whole thing. For one thing it meant that none of their possible suitors had any interest in pushing the matter. If you are the Big 10 you are not adding FSU right now. Same with the SEC. the mystique has been squashed. And Clemson was damaged by association. An of course getting hammered by Georgia didn’t help their value.

What ever happened to billybud? Haven't seen any "insider information" from him in a while. Always got a good laugh out of his posts.

He last posted in early October after the hurricanes passed through his area down south. He posted some personal info in the past, so I hope all is well with him.

He lives in western North Carolina. He checked in alive and well after the hurricane but I wouldn't be surprised if he has more pressing issues right now

His health isn’t great either. I’m sure that he’s taking the disastrous FSU football season hard and doesn’t want to face the ribbing he’ll get from some here either.

It's either that or he's finally achieved his lifelong goal of putting everyone on The Boneyard on ignore. He's still posting, but there's nobody left who can read them.

LOL this is the explanation.

What did it for me: he came in with some power-trippy comment about how FSU was like the Borgias of college football, weilding immense power and influence. I replied they were more like the Krays.

The next day, all his comments disappeared from my feed.

It looks like the ACC gets at least 2 in the CFP, both SMU and Clemson. Miami probably is on the outside of the bubble.

So what is FSU still suing about? They'd have to be the top 2 level of the conference to a playoff path. If the ACC is so weak, it’s the easiest path to the playoffs.

The FSU suck of 2024 would suck in any conference.

Not that Clemson wasn't significantly stronger in the trenches and likely would have won regardless of penalties, but the ridiculous disparity there smelled of the fix being in on that game. If SMU won, the ACC needed to hope Miami would be selected as a second bid. Now they have two schools in the running for a second bid.

Yes Clemson made the game close to try and get two teams in from ACC. Lol. SMU has a legit offense. It would score on any of the teams in the playoffs. SMU secondary is the weakness on the team which I will assume SMU with their NIL will address in the off season. Their head coach is one of the best coaches in FBS.
