After this I don’t know if Sampson will ever break through. The look on his face the last few possessions tell the story of a man who could see his dream forming and then falling apart before his very eyes within minutes. He’s a good coach but tonight he choked.

Kind of felt like the Gonzaga-UNC title game like how many opportunities are you gonna get.

Sampson is a great defensive coach, but lacks imagination and ability to draw up set plays. Gotta put some of the blame on the Houston players who just couldn't create good shots or make winning plays. And credit to the Florida players for stepping up their D.

They shut off Cryer and Houston really had nobody else who was consistently good offensively. They needed to get a shot off earlier even if a miss as they could swarm the boards for a basket.

Florida had a few nerve-wracking games. A dogfight with UCONN. Texas Tech had them down 9 with under 3 mins. And Houston went 6 mins without a fg in the 2nd half with a lead.

Fouls were 19-11 and free throws 17-9 against Houston, there is contact on almost every play. But Houston’s offense was ugly.
