Florida Post Game Thread

Ross was unplayable in the first half. Definitely had some nice defensive possessions in the second half but was a total deer in the headlights on offense. I don’t even blame him for that last turnover. There is no world in which Ross should be catching that inbound pass.

Stewart barely played. I like Ross on D but I do not like the ball in his hands. He is very shaky on offense. That TO at the end was awful. He has trouble passing too.
Just for his defense it was valuable for a couple of key possessions to slow down Lee, but agreed that Ross is very sketchy on offense (to be kind).

Thought we made some nice D adjustments/matchup changes in 2nd half. Ross on Lee was nice.

Our offense was choppy but overall real efficient.

Florida is big and tough. A dead heat in rebounds would have been nice. Expected them to outrebound us.

Haugh & Condon were tough matchups for Alex. They did a nice job of getting that matchup a lot. Is what it is. Alex contained without fouling too much but they were just longer and more athletic.

Mullins is a bucket. Reed needs a game or two more to get back to cooking, but looked great early in 1st half.

GREAT WIN. Let’s get the another Infinity stone Friday!

Too small for my old eyes, chin.

Just touch the screen with two fingers, pinch and push out towards the perimeter of your screen.

Heck, I do that five times a week trying to read grocery labels. I look at the label, see it's too small, try to zoom in with my fingers, and then it's FML. Then I pull out the ole mobile device, open up the camera app and magically I can read labels.

Hurley can't win close games. Oops, yes he can. Put a fork in that narrative.

We need to play some game this. This will definitely help us down the line. Great night to be a Husky!

I know he has been a rock for the team for 3+ years, but I think Hurley has to get Alex a few more minutes of rest, especially against a team with the size that Florida has. He hit a bit of a stretch where it looked like his legs were gone, but I think the adrenaline of the game/situation gave him a second wind for the end.
Smith is earning more playing time with Demary struggling. Don' know why Demary continues to go crashing in when he has the short jumper in his bag and seems like he can get there when he wants it.
Did think Hurley made a good adjustment throwing different defenders on Lee. I think Karaban, Ross, Demary, Mullins, Smith and Stewart all took turns on him in the final 10-12 minutes.
Love Malachi sticking with it. His first half was not very good, but had a really good second half.

Stewart barely played. I like Ross on D but I do not like the ball in his hands. He is very shaky on offense. That TO at the end was awful. He has trouble passing too.
Stewart played 23 minutes, though most were in the 1st half with Mullins in foul trouble

Hopefully Mullins learned things tonight. Smith was great. Ball shot over 40% and AK hit some clutch shots. Reed was good early on.

I was impressed by Lee’s quickness. Fortunately UConn adjusted and slowed him down in second half. Good win which caused me much anxiety

Tarris’ free throws were huge. Just about closed it out. Ross is the absolute last person you want to have the ball there but they got the 5 seconds so it didn’t hurt us.

Kinda don’t know what to say on Silas. He is a literal non-factor on offense and really hasn’t been good on defense. I don’t know if it’s just a slump but he has simply been bad for 2 weeks.

Malachi was tremendous in the 2nd half and Hurley again inexplicably took him out, and that’s just when we lost momentum again. He was eons better than Silas and deserved to stay in. He also started to play a lot better defensively in the second half I thought.

Reibe was good in the first half but Florida’s physicality was too much for him overall, he will learn. AK couldn’t really handle Condon either, but he is a lot bigger.

AK hit some big shots in the second half but we really need him and Solo to put together a full game of good ball, I don’t think it has happened. AK really needs to work harder on the backboards too, he was watching a lot and when everyone is bigger, you can’t watch. He needed to get a body on someone and get his work done early.

Tarris overall was good I thought, especially with him pretty obviously being hampered still. He didn’t have his quickness or lift at all, and Chinyelu played him very well.

Mullins hit some beautiful shots, but just as all of our guards, had some really dumb fouls. We really struggle to stay in front of guys. But I loved the little run he went on, and he got a tough rebound during it.

It’s been like this for years, but our inbounds plays are so bad. Especially behind the basket offensively. No one comes to the ball and we always toe the 5 second call line. Seems a simple enough fix but it hasn’t been.

Big win, Florida, just like Kansas, will be very good at the end of the season. I think we can forget the possibility of double bigs, this would have literally been the perfect game
for that.
Fouls kept this from being a double big game.

There were 6-7 minutes in the second half I was worried. When UF went up 53-52 I was almost worried.

Florida is really big. Like, insanely big. I understand why Hurley has mentioned playing Reibe and Reed together when you see a front court like Condon and Chinyelu. Then Handlogten and Haugh as well. They were grabbing 3 offensive boards at a time every possession at one point. I'm not sure we have the bodies to play big like that, but I get why he's thought about it.

Nice to see Solo shoot it well from 3. 3/8 is solid and if he gives us that every game for the rest of the season, plus what he's been doing in the mid range, I'll take it.

Mullins looked good in his limited action. Sorry but a couple of those fouls were really ticky tack for how physical the game was. Sucks he was neutralized a bit by those calls because when he was on the court you could tell he came to play. Kid is a stud, with such a sweet shot. Reibe had himself another solid performance as well. Those 2 are going to kill it this season.

Another great win for the resume. Still feels like we haven't seen this team at 100% yet with Reed working his way back and Mullins limited by fouls tonight.

Malachi has been the mvp in all the big games this year the stats don't say it but if you have watched those games when he has played he has made a huge impact. Hurley learned his lesson from the AZ game keep that man on the floor in crunch time and good things happen
Yeah, Malachi has outplayed Silas the past couple of games. What a late signing by Hurley and staff.
