Florida Post Game Thread

Excellent game. Good good win. Florida delivered several big punches but we always shook it off and punched right back.

That Alex Karaban block into made 3 was the turning point in the game.

Solo shook off misses and was reliable down the stretch.

Malachi.

Great win for the resume, UConn. It wasn't pristine and pretty, but it was gritty and a team has to have that quality.

Don't be fooled by Florida's 5-4 record-they are really good and will be in the conversation in March. Florida had Duke on the ropes in Cameron as they had the ball down 1 with a chance to win until Boogie dribbled the ball off his leg.

Sneaky good move by Hurley to put Ross on Lee.

Lee had a much quieter 2nd half. Ross slowed down Lee's dribble drives.

I thought Stewart would be more of a factor the 2nd half.
Stewart barely played in the second half was thee reason for his dropoff. I like Ross on D but I do not like the ball in his hands. He is very shaky on offense. That TO at the end was awful. He has trouble passing too.

What a win.

Florida was better with Fland on the bench. Otherwise, great game by them. They’re going to be tough in March.

We didn’t play our best but worked our way to the win, which is more a valuable experience than an easy win (and certainly more exciting to watch).

Demary and Malachi need to start hitting some open shots to open the lane for them. Teams are sagging off them forcing them to dribble into traffic.

Silas actually has a nice pull-up shot. While Malachi showed that he has one too, late in the game anyway

Tarris’ free throws were huge. Just about closed it out. Ross is the absolute last person you want to have the ball there but they got the 5 seconds so it didn’t hurt us.

Kinda don’t know what to say on Silas. He is a literal non-factor on offense and really hasn’t been good on defense. I don’t know if it’s just a slump but he has simply been bad for 2 weeks.

Malachi was tremendous in the 2nd half and Hurley again inexplicably took him out, and that’s just when we lost momentum again. He was eons better than Silas and deserved to stay in. He also started to play a lot better defensively in the second half I thought.

Reibe was good in the first half but Florida’s physicality was too much for him overall, he will learn. AK couldn’t really handle Condon either, but he is a lot bigger.

AK hit some big shots in the second half but we really need him and Solo to put together a full game of good ball, I don’t think it has happened. AK really needs to work harder on the backboards too, he was watching a lot and when everyone is bigger, you can’t watch. He needed to get a body on someone and get his work done early.

Tarris overall was good I thought, especially with him pretty obviously being hampered still. He didn’t have his quickness or lift at all, and Chinyelu played him very well.

Mullins hit some beautiful shots, but just as all of our guards, had some really dumb fouls. We really struggle to stay in front of guys. But I loved the little run he went on, and he got a tough rebound during it.

It’s been like this for years, but our inbounds plays are so bad. Especially behind the basket offensively. No one comes to the ball and we always toe the 5 second call line. Seems a simple enough fix but it hasn’t been.

Big win, Florida, just like Kansas, will be very good at the end of the season. I think we can forget the possibility of double bigs, this would have literally been the perfect game
for that.

I love that this team can win ugly games, but it is going to be much nicer when they start playing beautifully.
Well that’s going to rely on two things. Silas taking control of this offense and Braylon seeing more time on the floor.

Every night you are going to get a big shooting night from AK, Solo, Braylon

Malachi has been the mvp in all the big games this year the stats don't say it but if you have watched those games when he has played he has made a huge impact. Hurley learned his lesson from the AZ game keep that man on the floor in crunch time and good things happen
I love how aggressive Smith is on offense. He is the polar opposite to Demary and one of the few players who can create for himself or others except Mullins.

Hurley has to start Mullin next game. It's time. The kid is ready.

Plus, Silas has been slacking offensively, and I think the kid can give our SL a spark.
11 minutes wasn't enough.
