First Night Friday 6:45 Oct 14 live stream, link here

Hope Caroline, Azzi and Lou all are competing in the 3pt contest.

I'm getting a lot of sticking and freeze frames. Not a smooth picture and sound. Anyone else? :( Lots of empty seats.

A bit. Then the sound goes low again. Definitely making it hard on us.

Hmm. The Drum line streaming is good. Maybe they got their act together.

Good evening everyone. Welcome to first night. The event we've been waiting for - for months. Let's see who is producing this show....amateurs or professionals. Enjoy the show. :)
Definitely below amateur level... yikes.

The audio has been worked out. Much better.

Did not even need to sign up. :)

Not for me. Everything is way out of synch. Didn't see Caroline's shots at all, it just blanked out and reset after she finished.

Sorry to hear that. The video and audio were fine with me but the camera man often did not capture the basket so you know a 3pt shot went in only if the crowd cheered.

I think Lou and Azzi were the best but Caroline and Aubrey did pretty well. Lou from straight away was particularly great. She is definitely a bonafide 3pt shooter. Hope some one captures the scores some where.

Thanks for the link.... very nice! I was impressed by the three point
shooting of Azzi, of course, and ........ Lou Lopez S!! Interesting!
Aubrey looks like she put on some muscle! Well done! Z

The only thing I got out of this was the hope that Aubrey could be a passable three point shooter in game conditions. Puzzling that they did not at least give Ayanna a chance to throw one down, even if she wasn't one of the main participants in the dunk contest. Still was not an impressive production IMO. At this quality level I'm not sure even having First Night is good for the program.

Observations:
1. student interest not that large
2. Aubrey did ok in 3 pt contest
3. Caroline and Lou about the same , which is pretty good
4. Azzi lights out not that that came as a surprise
5. At least it was better than last year although having a few house would make it better

I guess it was for each his/her own. I Thought it was amung the best productions they've had.

Looks like UConn has another event tonight. Bad arrangement.

This is interesting, because in this clip and some others I have seen after the show, including Paige's introduction, the sound and video is fine and you can tell the crowd is into it. On the program I watched the crowd seemed dead (poor audio), in the video of the 3pt contest you often couldn't see if the shot went in or not, the women's team coaches after Geno were announced but did not come out, they didn't seem to know where the judges were at first for the dunk contest, Renee did her best to be filler, but there were too many delays and cut aways from the live camera.

But these brief clips I see from other sources seem to be good. Some people can do a good job.

Seven for 12 three-pointers for Caroline... we'd take that percentage! And that was leading off, probably the most pressurized spot.

Lou and the revitalized Aubrey both shot well, although I don't know the numbers.

Maybe my favorite moment of the contest was the view showing Caroline with both arms raised in exultation as Azzi drilled shot after shot. 'Opponents' this evening, but teammates forever!

The Roku feed's audio and video were out of synch. I never heard Rene's interview of Geno. And finally it was a nice logo but I saw saw more of that than basketball.

In other words, a typical show. Show the guy with the mike and give us a song instead of him.

I can't believe that this is the best they got. It's a pep rally for the students. I guess you had to be there. A nice way to start the weekend for the students.

Is Griffin now a backcourt player? She was reported to be working with the guards and she hit enough 3's tonight. We could see UConn play with a guard, 3 wings and a post a lot.

I'm glad Patterson stayed out of the dunk contest.

If it was good and entertaining for the students which was the target audience, I’m happy. My interest waned after the three point contest. If the players were excited to participate in first night, and it was a treat for our 3 recruits to be there and take in the sights and sounds of the event, I’m happy.

As a fan watching on-line, I was not impressed. My picture and sound quality were poor (lots of freeze frames) throughout the program. It was free so it’s hard to complain.

First night signals the official start of the season. It’s the event we look forwad to every year. I’ll be interested to hear two weeks from now who has separated themselves from the pack in practice. Will it be one of the core veterans, or a newbie?

I believe Azzi shot 10-12. Sweeeeet!

A newby

Aubrey Griffin was a guard in high school, averaging 24pt.s per. I for one am not surprised, this team can come at you in many ways. Auriemma has to figure out who and when they will compliment each other.

Geno said that Ayanna “tweaked” her ankle and would not participate in the dunk contest for that reason.

Caroline Ducharme is going to be our leading scorer . Im saying it now ! The only concern i have was watching her hip movement in her shot in the clip versus her hip movement on her shot in real game situations. Yes it's just a 3 point contest with no defense so you want to be as straight up and down as possible but this would not be the BY if we did not over analyze everything right lol ?
