His defense cannot conceivably be worse than Stewart or RossYou would think he might see a few minutes if his D is top notch. We are not at practice but when you consider the D we see during games it make me wonder.
Hard to know, what little I saw in August, he looked like a player with a ton of upside. You would think he might see a few minutes if his D is top notch. We are not at practice but when you consider the D we see during games it make me wonder.
Ross plays defense well enough that Hurley puts him in at the end of games at D. I don't what you are watching. It's almost like you think you are trying to get clicks. His defense cannot conceivably be worse than Stewart or Ross
I’m watching a guy that goes for a head fake. Every. Single. Time.Ross plays defense well enough that Hurley puts him in at the end of games at D. I don't what you are watching. It's almost like you think you are trying to get clicks.
Matador is a stretch lol, and I think ross does give good effort, the fact that he has the ability to guard 1’s at 6’7 we gotta appreciate, it’s on the offensive end of the floor that’s hard to watch when it comes to himI’m watching a guy that goes for a head fake. Every. Single. Time.
He’s a matador on defense, I have no idea what YOU are watching.
lol - you are my BY Obi Wan. Show me how, can we do this one to start? Thanks. Good article. I know we've only seen snippets of him, and the coaches see them all during practice that we don't see, but I have a hard time believing he couldn't give the team more than Ross is giving.
I taught you how to post tweets. Now I need to teach how to post alternate access links. Does everyone know how to do this on their own now?
"For every coach," Faisal noted, "its hard to have an 11-12-man rotation. There's a lot of guys at his position right now, it's hard to make a way in. There's timing for everyone. It's not your time right now. Other guys sat the bench last year, it's kind of a system in place."

UConn freshman Isaiah Abraham looks to become defensive stopper, like his dad at Marquette in 1990s
You asked and I deliver.lol - you are my BY Obi Wan. Show me how, can we do this one to start?
Dan Hurley, college basketball villain? Actually, this sport could use more like him
Hurley is like an annoying, bombastic little brother. You don’t have to like him. You do have to love him.www.nytimes.com
He just needs to find some consistency and realize every play is not a do or die situation. Just learn play within himself and when the opportunities come to do something special, and they will, take advantage of them.Ross, in my opinion, turned the game against Gonzaga by being able to guard Nemb… last game I do not think it was a coincidence that he enters and we go on a 20-7 run by shutting down his man who was cooking Stewart and Ball.
Without question, as proven by the sub patterns, he is a better defender than Solo and Stew. If he could just stop falling for pump fakes and play with a clue on offense he could be a player.
Those are two pretty big ifs. We are 21 games into the season.Ross, in my opinion, turned the game against Gonzaga by being able to guard Nemb… last game I do not think it was a coincidence that he enters and we go on a 20-7 run by shutting down his man who was cooking Stewart and Ball.

Oh that's all, huh. I don't disagree with that list, in fact I agree with it a lot, but those are a lot of things that have to happen. McNeeley is returning, check, and Reed Jr getting more low post opportunities are the 2 that are most in UConn's control. The other 3 items I am not sure will happen consistently but rather sporadically. He just needs to find some consistency and realize every play is not a do or die situation. Just learn play within himself and when the opportunities come to do something special, and they will, take advantage of them.
Defense is not like offense where you can let the game come to you so he has to stay aggressive but in control.
I think the keys to the rest of this season:
McNeeley coming back, Mahaney continuing to play better, Ball getting a little better defensively, Reed Jr getting more low post opportunities and Ross figuring out a way to play with in himself, if these happen, we will be competitive in every game against any opponent.

He kind of ran around like a chicken with its head cut off last year. He’s carving out a role this year and his offensive game will improve as he gains confidence.Matador is a stretch lol, and I think ross does give good effort, the fact that he has the ability to guard 1’s at 6’7 we gotta appreciate, it’s on the offensive end of the floor that’s hard to watch when it comes to him
Sorry but he is better than Solo only due to him being terrible but he and Stewie at best are equal. Stewie at times does a great job on bigger guys backing him down or trying to but he’s inconsistent. I’ve seen some decent defense on occasion by Ross but even then 75% of time he’s gonna bite, jump and lose his position. There’s not much for me there on the eye test actually his defense is overrated!
Did a decent job tonight in Milwaukee if you ask meI’m watching a guy that goes for a head fake. Every. Single. Time.
