I will guess that Delaware and Syracuse end up in UConn's regional.

No. 1 FH Leads With Six All-Conference Selections

<Seniors Charlotte Veitner and Casey Umstead of the No. 1 UConn field hockey team were tabbed the BIG EAST Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, as announced by the league on Thursday. The duo headlined a group of six total UConn players that earned all-conference honors.

Redshirt-senior Nina Klein and junior Amanda Collins joined Veitner and Umstead as BIG EAST First Team selections. Senior Karlie Heistand and freshman Margot van Hecking Colenbrander garnered Second Team accolades for their performances this fall.>

UConn also got the Big East Coaching Staff of the Year award.

With Virginia and Duke losing in the ACC Semis, UCONN locks up the #1 overall seed (assuming the Huskies defeat Liberty in the Big East Final).

Eh, with those results, I figure UConn will lose even more #1 votes given the way things have gone the past few weeks. :p

There are 14 teams that have consistently been ahead of the rest, but likely only 13 NCAA spots for them.

It will probably come down to BC, Syracuse, & Wake Forest fighting it out for the final 2 spots.

While I agree with you, it's crazy to think that BC (0-6 in the ACC/11-8 overall) is still in the mix.

#1 SOS by a wide margin and #8 RPI

Also wins over Northwestern & Maryland and OT losses to Duke & UNC.

Sorry, but when you go winless in conference play, you do not deserve an NCAA tourney bid. I don't care how good your conference is.

UNC and Michigan both won conference titles today as well. They were fighting to host a regional. Although given that the Heels have been playing Home games at Duke all year (field under construction), I’m guessing it will go to Michigan.

So what do Geno Auriemma and Nancy Stevens have in common besides winning national championships at UConn? They both attended West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Former UConn field hockey coach Diane Wright, who won two national championships with the Huskies, also attended West Chester University. How do I know silly things like this? Many years ago some of my family moved to West Chester while I was attending UConn. Over the years I started to notice that both West Chester the town and West Chester University produced a goodly number of people involved in sports, including the the national championship UConn coaching trio mentioned above.

UConn plays at home versus the winner of Fairfield/Boston University.
Penn State and Delaware are the other teams playing in Storrs next weekend.

Shown below with last week's AP rank + RPI + 2 computer rankings.

1 UConn* (1 1 1 1) v BU/Fairfield
Penn St (5 6 6 6) v Delaware (8 8 7 7)

4 UNC (6 3 5 4) v St Joes
Virginia* (4 5 4 3) v Princeton (14 12 13 12)

3 Michigan* (3 4 2 2) v Syracuse (11 14 11 9)
Northwestern (9 10 10 11) v Louisville (10 7 9 10)

2 Duke* (2 2 3 5) v Stanford/Miami
Maryland (7 11 8 8) v Wake (13 13 12 13)

You could make a reasonable case that Penn St & Delaware are the #6 & #7 teams in the country.

I'd much rather have Duke or Michigan's draw. That bottom half is weak.
