Packing it in on defense cannot be a novel idea against StJ. It’s working so far. StJ shot 21 threes in the first half - that has to be easily their highest one half total this year.
It doesn’t have to be novel to be good coaching. It was a good gameplan. St John just shot better than anyone would have anticipated, which still wasn’t great. If they shoot that many 3’s in the second half Nova will be in good position to win in my opinion

Creighton or St John’s goin g to start a losing streak on Sunday
We probably need to pull for St. John’s in that game. It’s Creighton’s last game against the top tier of the conference and they could very well win out afterward. Johnnies would still have us and Marquette to deal with. Sets up a potential scenario with three teams with four losses at the top of the standings.

ESPN probably needs to start staggering these afternoon games like Fox tends to do, seems like games are bleeding well over their window more than ever these days. Arizona vs Houston got cut into by a full 10 minutes of game action for a non-OT finish in the previous game.

They often do, putting one of the games on ESPNNews. Although maybe that's only ACC games?

That's not staggering, the Houston/Arizona game started on time so they had to air it on another channel. They did push the Bama/Auburn start to 4:15 though.

I'm not watching any College Basketball today after that horrendous loss my UConn gave me a sour taste in my mouth.

Mich St and Ilini having a barnburner now
Somehow can't imagine this UConn team can play at that level right now.

UConn and Kansas fighting it out for the most overrated team in the country.

We need to meet up in the tournament to settle it once and for all.
Let's hope that tournament is the NCAA.

I was so hopeful on Friday before that abomination against Seton Hall. Even Jay Bilas thought that UConn was trending in the right direction and should make it to to the second weekend of the NCAA's.

We are in a pretty bad state right now, but at least we aren't Arkansas. Woof

Kansas experiencing some similar issues to us. Self over indexed on returners and wiffed pretty bad in the portal. Really soft team makeup. There is talent there but just not congealing and super imbalanced, with a total lack of dogs.

Pretty tough day after our debacle, but the Creighton/StJ game is gonna be must watch as curious to the cajones those two have bouncing back after losses, in seeing how they set up for March. Also two very different styles with two great coaches. As always my fandom starts with UConn and then ends with other BE teams.

A Creighton win today helps us.

Here’s my recap from today’s Sacred Heart game. Just in time for their new conference, the refresh of their gym is quite nice and I’ve got a solid team this year!

Creighton - StJ game is high level, great energy. Hysterical that Pitino claims Smith may be out for regular season and is active very next game. He definitely changes the Jonnie’s, fastest guy in the BE.

Neal is a very good basketball player, averaging 12/5/4 at 45%. Coming out of AZSt, you’d think the other Hurley might cue his brother up, because at 6’5” he would have been light years more additive than Mahaney.

Minor quibble, but there is a thread for other BE games. This is the non-BE thread.
