In fairness, Brea has been really mercurial shooting. A few really good games against real competition, but a lot of duds and contributes nothing else. I can understand why they’re frustrated.
I’m not sure what they expect. The guy is a gunslinger and nothing else, he won’t reinvent himself in year 5. He’s one of the best shooters in the country (maybe the best) for a team that’s been ranked all season, is 40% in conference play, and has led them in scoring for their two biggest wins against top 10 teams

Yes he’s been inconsistent in SEC play, but is their expectation that he shoots 50+% on high volume every single game?

There is also an active thread bashing Koby Brea, a few days after he led the team in scoring in a road upset against Tennessee

I thought our fanbase was spoiled..these guys are insane. Pope had to scrap together a full roster in like 2 months and had them top 10-15 for most of the year, now they want his head on a pike
There is nothing like BBN. It’s a combination of being spoiled and unintelligent, a tribalism built around tantrumming.

Pope has been A+ this year. He took a bunch of loose parts and turned it into a fringe top 10 team. That is hard to do. Now they’re banged up. They’re not perfect but were never destined to be.

It’s scary. Not sure if there is anyone in college that can guard him. Completely annihilating UNC.
Flagg is exceptional but UNC's hoops program has fallen off a cliff.

Pope has done a great job considering there were no left over players from last year. BBN does not deserve a coach like Mark Pope.

I think he gets one more year.
Roy hired him so he will get a long leash making that tourney run in his first season and being a 1 seed last year. He will get next year most likely.

Yeah, and he just wrapped up a pretty good class to go along with Powell & Jackson if they stay. He needs bigs in the portal desperately, the fact he totally whiffed last year when it was such a glaring hole after Bacot left makes no sense.

.-.
Is Arkansas better without Boogie Fland? They're now 2-1 without him, with two wins against ranked teams and finding new life. This after going 0-5 in conference with him. It's given Johnell Davis a chance to play into confidence and find his old self, basically forcing Cal off his age old obsession with highly ranked freshman. Right now it's looking like addition by subtraction, and perhaps another demonstration of trying to win with freshman in lead roles doesn't work more often than not.

When did Sunday become women's college basketball day? Nothing on, no football for the first time in 5 months, and the only college basketball games on are women or some AAC games with bad teams (that's redundant isn't it?). Figured today would be a good day to feature some high level games. Sigh.....

Haven't seen @kobe around in a while. Wonder why? Lol. Life in a real conference isn't so easy, is it? 12-9 overall and 2-8 in the Big 12.

You mean you’re not excited to see the 6p FS1 game between Seton Hall and DePaul with no fans in the stands?

You can always watch the Pro Bowl. /s

I will watch that. That's way more interesting than the AAC games and women's games that have been on all day. :)

I think Penny leaves for one of the half dozen ACC jobs opening after this season. He will have won 20 games every year for 7 years. There is no way to do better than that at Memphis, and he is wasting his career there.

This is a little old but I could not get over the butt whipping Duke laid on UNC last night. The Devils looked like a pro team and the Heels like a bunch of rec league scrubs. But generally speaking that team is gonna be real tough to beat in the NCAAs. Flagg is great, but the Maluach kid is an absolute load on the block. He was a one man wrecking crew when Carolina got any sort of penetration whatsoever. Proctor and Kneuppel are also very, very good. I was impressed, although it's also pretty clear Scheyer has nothing to do with this and it's ALL natural ability for this crew. He just winds them up, sits back and enjoys the show. They are manifesting what the Zion/Cam/RJ team was supposed to be.

Wouldn't shock me in the least if this is Hubert Davis' swan song in Carolina Blue.

No doubt they've got players. They also lost to both UK (in Atlanta) and KU (in Vegas). We've seen that both UK and KU are beatable. It tells me Duke could be had on a neutral court. Their <10 pt wins at Cameron include Auburn and ND. Wake played them close in Winston-Salem. NC State led by 4 at halftime in Cameron before losing by 10.

Duke and Auburn are 1a/1b to me. But neither is undefeated. And neither coach has a ring.

They can beaten. I'm not going to pretend I know how. But I will say championship DNA is an asset come tourney time.

Duke’s defense, while tough to admit, is very impressive. Hubert Davis’s offense was not.

UNC was doing nothing to create opportunities, and Duke was swallowing them whole.

Size-wise they are a lot like UConn last year. They are crushing teams with their size across the board. Offensively though they are a lot more one-on-one, which is a good and a bad thing for them.

Size wise NC looked very small against Duke besides the talent difference.

Good thing we bagged that Marquette Q1 road W, because our Gonzaga win looks worse and worse each passing day. They lost to St Mary's last night.

And moved one spot in the metrics. Lol.

Watching Kansas and Iowa St. right now.....Bodies flying and contact everywhere and barely any whistles being blown. Refreshing that so far it's not a parade to the foul line.

Pitt loses to Virginia tonight, now 14-8 and 2-6 in last 8 games. Please remove Pitt from all NCAA brackets immediately. I don’t understand what the experts who have brackets see in them. In a weak ACC as well.

This looks like one of those years where the Committee will have trouble filling the field with deserving teams. Pitt has as good a shot as about 20 other teams fighting for the last 10 spots.

Iowa St is quickly fading into oblivion

Don’t fret….,he’ll come back at the end of the year to brag about how they beat Colorado and Dayton while we are preparing for our Sweet 16 matchup

Latest brackets have the SEC with 13 teams. Might as well call it the SEC invitational when you’re filling close to a quarter of the tourney. There are teams like Missouri finding their way into the top 15 after being a disaster last year.

If Penny does fly the coup at Memphis I’ll gladly take Haggerty in the portal. Not sure Penny is leaving as an alum.

The Caleb Love 60 foot prayer may have killed the Cyclones season. They should be fine but likely played themselves onto the 3 line with these 3 losses.

Unless Pitt has a miraculous run in the ACC tourney, they appear done. Dropped 10 spots in NET from that loss down to 45. Capel said was the worst game he's ever been a part of as a coach. He needs to go. There's talent on that team, but very little discipline.

I don't have proof, but I highly doubt UVA has ever started a game up 17-0. I would've thought that impossible even against Mississippi Valley.
