February General CBB Discussion Thread

Why the heck are Duke and Michigan playing each other randomly in February in the middle of conference play? I don't recall ever seeing that kind of scheduling.
You'll probably see more of that going forward. It's what TV wants.

Mara a nonfactor since going to the bench early in the 1st half after his 2nd foul, which was a clean block on boozer of course

This used to happen alot more in the past, especially before conference realignment created jumbo sized conferences. Duke played Illinois at a similar point of the season last year at MSG, you will probably see more teams doing it because there was a report yesterday that ESPN wants it.

Michigan keeps missing the tying or go ahead threes.

This Duke team isn't as good as last year's but they're still constructed pretty well. Yes they're stacked with talent but Scheyer seems to get it in regards to how to build a roster to play multiple ways.

The one thing they're missing is a consistent guard/wing option that can get his though. Evans is the closest to fitting that bill but he can be up and down with that jumper

UM gained one point with Boozer out. Some pretty bad shot selection by the yellow dudes.

Cadeau looking like the UNC version that had all of their fans and player alumni bashing him
He has no business shooting anything contested in the paint. He might actually be worse than Malachi in that regard.

Both these teams don’t really have Grade A backcourts. I think we matchup with Duke better because Boozer will be chasing Karaban all night.

They are excellent defensively. It’s their strength.

UMs gap in guard play here is killing them.

Good game plan by Scheyer to slow this one to a crawl and make UM earn points with a lack of guards.

Duke has 6.5K undergrads at any given time (vs 35K for UM) and yet has enough DC area "alumni" to fill half a 20K seat arena? Kudos for having the higher frontrunner-to-alumni ratio.
