Not all posts are as straight forward as you think. Sure I’ll own it.You made a dumb post, just own it.

So how well do you know him?I don't even like Ollie as a head coach or person but that's ridiculous. Ollie coached them up for two seasons and did a great job of it in those two seasons. He coached them to a national championship
I cannot think of any instance where a coach was more in tune or did a better job of having his finger on the pulse of his team than Ollie in the 2014 tournament.Calhoun could not have won with that team. Ollie deserves the credit for that Championship.
It was a long post I give you that. Ollie was going through a divorce that had a significant impact on his performance. It’s over give it a restGreat post - sometimes when I bring up prickly subjects, it’s great to see a well thought out and intelligent post that are compelling vs some call out.

Yes, there is quite a bit to criticize him for, but that title was a coaching masterpiece.
Agree, very hard to imagine B12 would see value added from our football team which is 95% of the value in conference realignmentWe add nothing to the B12, unless Yormark was that enamored with NYC. I doubt a league that spans as far west at AZ cares about NYC. It's ACC or bust.
Ehh screw it, Duke would maybe move down 1 spot in the polls and don't put it past the committee to put in a 17-20 win Cuse team in if they were to win a single game over Duke. Duke already running away with it.Syracuse has had nothing to play for for weeks now, maybe they could do something useful? Yeah probably not

The Cuse opening will be an interesting watch from an attraction standpoint.First time I’ve seen them play. Whoa. That’s an undisciplined team that looks like they couldn’t give two F’s.
It’s downright embarrassing.Syracuse should drop down to the NEC.
Some of their fans are delusional. They think they are a big time program which they no longer are.The Cuse opening will be an interesting watch from an attraction standpoint.
Houston on a 21-6 flame throwing run. Not sure what their weakness is other than being young at the 5. Houston has a high lotto pick who is playing at another level, a first round center, a dawg at the 4 and two returning starting guards from last years NC game team. They're not deep either I suppose.I think Houston and Iowa St would both give us fits.

Would also prefer to play teams that haven't seen us.There's probably more than a dozen teams that will give UConn fits. The beauty is the way the tournament works is you'll only ever have to play 6 of them, tops.
Both are high energy teams on both ends of the floor.I think Houston and Iowa St would both give us fits.
I agree wholehearted with your last point. It's night and day different the way this game or other Big 12 games I have watched have been called v. Big East games. The amount of contact they allow makes the game so much more watchable. No way UConn would have the fouls called on them with these refs. They are letting you be handsy, play with physicality, and not calling these cheap touch fouls. So refreshing to watch. Forget UConn watching this game, Big East refs should be.Both are high energy teams on both ends of the floor.
I hope Hurley and his staff are watching this game. Both move the ball up court quickly and look for early offense before the D is set. If nothing is there they pull it out and run their sets. I've been asking for weeks now for UConn to play like this, but instead we see a lot of slow motion sets that are too often not creating good shots. I just want more balanced attack and for them to run their multi-action sets more quickly and precisely. Just not sure they have the BBIQ to do so this year. I hope they do.
Now ISU runs some nice half court offense. Lots of hard screens and quick rolls to the basket. And a lot of quick drives to the paint. While Houston doesn't really run much of a complex offense, but tonight has been streaky hot from beyond the arc. They attack and pass and attack some more. Their aggressive offense would be problematic for UConn. They're a team I'd rather not have to face in the tournament.
Defensively Houston does a lot of quick trapping in the half court. You have to be careful to take care of the ball and space well or be decisive with your offense to avoid the hard traps. When the ball is in the paint they swarm quickly to it.
Reed would likely draw a croud and would need to be more decisive or quickly find the open man, which could generate some open in rhythm 3s. He's been glacierly slow with the ball this season. Maybe it's my misremembering but didn't he look more decisive last season? Note he did pass out of the post well a couple games ago, but that looked like an anomaly, but he seems capable. I would like to see more of that. Either a decisive attack or kick out and shot or a reset. I don't like the stand there and slow move to the basket I'm too often seeing from him.
ISU plays some tough man D staying in front of their man. Solid D but not as aggressive as Houston's.
Both are talented solid physical teams that, as some have pointed out, would be tough matchups for UConn.
These refs are allowing a lot of contact as long as the offense player maintains the ball, but are calling the contract that results in a turnover or impacts shot. I wish our BE refs called the games this way.
