February General CBB Discussion Thread

there is a problem with the way Zion is built. But when you have to have weight and workout clauses put in your contract I think that goes to show the lack of work ethic you probably have for the game, too.

I believe Bill Self for some reason when he talks about Peterson. Maybe silly but idk.
I'm in the camp of the kid has some stuff going on, camp might be overly cautious protecting the "asset", but will be just fine when it matters.

Probably true- You know the "asset" will be well -rested. Has only missed 11 games so far

March is what matters at the end of the day. Would be wild if he introduced load management to the college level though.

Could be an iconic run if he comes in a' blazing and they make dash in the dance.

Everyone will be watching, that is for sure. The DP LM has gained a lot of national attention.

We can all have our own opinions about what the right number is, but I think 70% or so of a person's body is just genetics. Zion is just a giant man. That is who he is. Trying to change that is fighting his genes, and it is unlikely to be successful. The problem with Zion is that his natural body type doesn't work over a long season. It will break down, and his joints won't be able to handle it. Spoiler alert, some tiny fraction of all people have the physical makeup to play in the NBA, and I don't think Zion is one of those people, at least not at starter minutes. Maybe at 20 mpg.

I felt the same way when they bulked up Donyell 30 years ago. That was not his body, and he never got comfortable as a much bigger, more muscular player. He would have gotten manhandled physically in the NBA as a skinnier player, but he would have been a lot quicker and more effective than what he became.

Watching Duke Clemson. We hold the advantage at every position except Boozer, which will be a big mismatch. Pat is in the Silas camp of overfouling and their guards and wings do nothing for me. Give Kimani a week to prepare a Edey like game plan against Boozer and I’m not worried at all if we run into them in the east

Looks like we have a challenge:

Really going out on a limb picking the top two teams in Feb. He also perennially picks every #1 seed to make the Final Four. The bloom has been off his rose for quite some time now.

But not a shock you would latch on to him promoting your two favorite teams.

they're exceptionally inconsistent...it really rises and falls on whether the rest of the team is being effective. if they are hitting, it looks like good team ball driven by having to over-focus on boozer. If they aren't, it looks like boozer not being aggressive enough and a 1-dimensional team.

Duke's team rebounding is much better than uconn's. uconn's coaching is much better than duke's.

I honestly think the game plan is to let boozer get his and run sarr/evans/foster off the line. Very much like we did with edey.

This ISU & KU game is a defensive battle. Trying to determine if either of these teams are a contender.

This Toure kid on KSU can defend. He's in DP's jersey.

Checking in from the Dean Dome. First time here. Nice stadium.

So, this is the game Peterson was waiting for, eh?

10 pts, 0 reb, 0 ast, 3 TO in 23 mins.
Iowa St smacking Kansas, their resume was becoming a bit too good so I'm cool with it
Yeah, drab performance. I have this feeling all these games of top teams in the B12 will simply go to the home team.

UM runs over UCLA and makes it look easy. It feels like if all teams playing A game, Michigan is the team that has the highest ceiling.

Florida is on a dominant roll because of that frontcourt.
They are rising up the food chain fast. All they needed was that back court to play well and they were going to flip back into a contender given a championship front court.

They’d be an interesting matchup with UM. Yaxel vs Haugh would be awesome.
