Favorite Song Covers

My favorite songs of two of my favorite bands are both covers, so naturally... these are my two favorites:

Husker Du doing the Byrds "8 Miles High":

I stumbled on this the other day....

Ballsy doing "Piano Man" w/o a piano.

What's next, a cover of "I'm the Scatman" going la-la-la-tra-la-la?

I like Joe Cocker's cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" better than the original, even though Hawkins was of "my" era, and I saw him do it live (at the State Theater in Hartford, some time in the late 50s.).

.-.
My favorite jazz vocalists, Cassandra Wilson, has a entire career/ catalog of covers that are
Great.
Here’s one of my favorites from Donny Hathaway- Yesterday (Beatles)

.-.
Disturbed is one of my favorite renditions of this song.
Same. It's tough to improve on a Simon and Garfunkel song but the Disturbed version builds beautifully making it a really powerful rendition.
