That’s not why.Fwiw, people don’t seem to like what I say because it challenges the coaches.

I have no problem challenging the coaches though many here do but maybe we should let them coach this team a bit before we drop the hammer on them.Fwiw, people don’t seem to like what I say because it challenges the coaches. I’m not sure why this board/fanbase is so against statements or opinions that challenge the coaches.
I’m a Michigan football fan and people do it all the time… hell read the very first part after all the jibberish play by play breakdown where a popular fan blog directly calls out the DC….

The UFR Glossary is here.SUBSTITUTION NOTES: Benny (40 snaps) and Pierce (35) are starting to separate from the DT rotation, with Payne (26), Williams (24) and Etta (21) in Tier 2 and Brandt getting ten DT snaps in Racecar. Barham (41), D-Mo (38), Guy (34), and Brandt (30) a relatively even end...mgoblog.com
An NFL DC that whipped Ohio State and Alabama last year mind you. Nobody blinks an eye.
I also don’t think people would bother to reply to what I post if it actually didn’t make sense. I’ve seen how this board treats genuinely stupid posts. People respond because it makes sense while not being what they want to hear at the same time.
I think he should be totally ignored so others could focus on more relevent posts ... his interjections are a big turnoffincredulous and juvenile
Sorry if it seems like I’m dropping the hammer. Not want I’m trying to do. I just talk about things I’d like to see improve that should be feasible.I have no problem challenging the coaches though many here do but maybe we should let them coach this team a bit before we drop the hammer on them.
As far as last year it took some time to realize that we had a deficiency at point guard. That was a recruiting mistake on their part.
My bet is that this year we will be pretty happy with both them and the players.
I’m surprised you haven’t latched onto Hurley’s interview after the first practice and his comments about his mistakes in the way he’s coached Ross.Fwiw, people don’t seem to like what I say because it challenges the coaches. I’m not an interview watcher personally, especially when they’re that long (think it’s like 10-15 mins edit: even worse 25 minutes).I’m surprised you haven’t latched onto Hurley’s interview after the first practice and his comments about his mistakes in the way he’s coached Ross.
At 9:53 AM you said “Last post on this”.We’re not talking about making the right play. We’re talking about attempting to do something.
Stop with these phony false parrallels. Sanogo went from not passing it at all to passing it just fine.
You’re making it seem like he passed it before but turned it over and was bad at it and got better. That would’ve been progression and working on something. No, he just attempted passing the ball after the losing streak. You can be silly enough to think what the coaches were teaching him just magically clicked after 3 and a half years.
I’m going to use common sense critical thinking to assume the coaches assessed the situation and saw that was one of the things that needed to be fixed. And Sanogo is a smart enough guy to easily take coaches direction because I’m going to give him that credit and not assume these players are these dummies where it takes 3 years to do something so simple.
Last post on this.
Don’t know why I’m just seeing this. Addressing this Solo thing and retiring this convo as well.In my humble opinion, it’s not just his handles that are keeping him from being a PG in college and certainly not the pros. I think you dramatically oversimplify how easy it is to just teach anyone PG skills, which is a bit odd given you consistently blast Hurley for not being able to develop PGs.
Are you sure he didn't only start trying to teach them PG skills in year 3? That seems like a long time for someone to learn a skillCalhoun’s PG training program used to take 3 years for any of those guys to get down and perfect
LOL at "dropping the hammer".Sorry if it seems like I’m dropping the hammer.
Kudos to you...Don’t know why I’m just seeing this. Addressing this Solo thing and retiring this convo as well.
He’s not going to be junior year Kemba if he had handles, but he can be an underclassman Boatright.
Calhoun’s PG training program used to take 3 years for any of those guys to get down and perfect so I know Solo won’t look like a great one just from his handles. But it’s a big start to him at least being able to reasonably play the position.
It’s also why I get annoyed when we don’t get guys going right away at that position out of all of them. Like we’re getting Solo going now so he only has 2 years (maybe 1 if he goes to the draft) to work on it instead of prepping him for this kind of role from day 1 when it’s the hardest position to learn because so much goes into it.
It’s like unless you’re a ready made day 1 player the only thing you can do on the court is shoot 3s and play defense before you’re allowed to grow your game and do anything else.
I try to post the videos from twitter because it cuts part of the video out on IG.Was also on IG. Kid is a bucket and amazing person. Gonna be really, really amazing in UConn blue and white!

And they're certainly not letting any of us knuckleheads in! Remember the good old days when @Thirty Three would just walk into Gampel and watch the team scrimmage during the summer and fall before real practices started. Or when @DogMania and I talked our way into a few real practices. But with the practice facility they can button things up more than they did with Gampel. Plus I highly doubt Hurley would let anyone in.I don't think they let people in during the first week or two when they're going hard into combat mode or whatever Dan calls it,.

The Ross brothers seem like culture guys. Hope they’re both able to find a groove at UConn somewhere down the line.
