Fall Practice Thread

Lots of people getting mad about Josh being the best player on earth right now, sucks to not have Tawmy to save your behinds.

Talk about being easy to ruffle feathers! I was making the point that players naturally get better at specific areas (passing, dribbling) and sometimes that DOES take years.

Ah, you didn't call Josh the best player on earth right now, you call him the GOAT - two very different tags. I will agree with you, Josh is the man right now and easily the player in the NFL most fun to watch. Joshy doesn't hold a candle to Tawmy, who can't steamroll linebackers, would put Joshy through a PhD course on how to run a team, offense and culture from the QB position. When Joshy gets his first SB appearance, call me. Tawmy has 10 of those.

I hope he was happy with his make a wish MVP last season 😉

Ya said Goat. And I like Josh, but he isn’t even really close to the best QB of his generation, Mahomes and Lamar are quite clear.

What HW611 thinks he looks like in this thread:

IT WAS A JOKE.

But right now he’s the best QB on earth. I didn’t mention generation, that’s still going.

Edit: “quite clear” for Lamar?!?! Lolololol and Patrick hasn’t been top 2 in 3 years. Watch a game.

Hi, it was a joke.

Ok everyone get back Sanogo not knowing how to pass. I was clearly messing around and have said that 30x lets back to making fun of HW’s basketball knowledge.

Humor doesn't come across that great in a message board. Not sure if you're expecting me to read your expression.

Yeah. Best passer rating of all time. 2 MVPs probably shoulda won last year, too.

Goat is an acronym for Greatest of All Time. Not the last season.

I can’t believe you’re still talking about GOAT thing as though I meant it. I can’t type it more than I have already, it’s excessive. I was JOKING.

But he’s better than Lamar, he was last year and he might have been 2 years ago too.

If you didn't watch GOT, probably don't get the context. I'm guessing calling it juvenile means it lapped him a bit.
The joke also backfires if you watched the show and understand the context funny enough lol

Okay I understand you were joking, that’s fine I apologize for misreading.

But respectfully, he is not better than Lamar. He is definitely the 2nd best QB in the league, if that’s any consolation.

Your opinion is against many people, including mine, so I couldn’t possibly care less but I appreciate you making it known!

This thing fixin' to get locked.
Why do yall have to make these comments to encourage it to get locked lol.

Relax. This is suppose to be a thread with many uses meant to last until the season starts. It’s the boneyard so off track discussions will break out but when there’s more practice stuff it’ll get on track again for a page or two to talk about it 😉

Geez, I this thread became an Allen joka-a-long as the best QB of all time / on the planet?

I drafted him in our FFL bc he's is great, but let's get back to the thread topic please.

Think of arms as simple machines. Longer arms have longer distance from the end to the fulcrum (elbow or shoulder, depending), and they are proportionally heavier due to the square cube law. It takes more effort and strength to move things at the end of long arms, and it's harder to control fine movements.

But yeah, the reach has positives for dribbling as well.
As long as he has compensating muscles and innervation it should not be an impediment. The major issue is if the arm length preventing him from dribbling closer to his body in which case it will be easier for defenders to strip the ball.

But kudos to the mechanics tidbit of the square cube law.

You all are right. The staff was working on Sanogo’s passing for 4 and a half years in practice and he just finally got comfortable enough to do it after our losing streak.

What great timing for him to finally learn how to pass the ball after 4 years of our staff working on it with him.

Option 3, they figured out how he could be effective as a passer by watching game and practice film, and tweaked the offense to match it.

I find it interesting that you and others responding to HW feel the need to change him. For me the issue isn't the things he states. As OTT as they may be his intent is clearly to have a debate with people. He enjoys the process and understands the more preposterous the statement the greater the likelihood he'll get responses. Even if I'm incorrect he has demonstrated that none of you will ever succeed in altering his opinions.

To me he's not the ridiculous individual. Those of you that are frustrated with him and feel the need to refute him in a futile effort are the fools. Aggravating as he is why are you spending so much of your time on a cause that is inconsequential and futile? Now if you enjoy this interaction and your statements of exasperation are made for the intent of drama have fun.
Fwiw, people don’t seem to like what I say because it challenges the coaches. I’m not sure why this board/fanbase is so against statements or opinions that challenge the coaches.

I’m a Michigan football fan and people do it all the time… hell read the very first part after all the jibberish play by play breakdown where a popular fan blog directly calls out the DC….

An NFL DC that whipped Ohio State and Alabama last year mind you. Nobody blinks an eye.

I also don’t think people would bother to reply to what I post if it actually didn’t make sense. I’ve seen how this board treats genuinely stupid posts. People respond because it makes sense while not being what they want to hear at the same time.
