Extended Game Week - UConn vs. Holy Cross (8/31 @7:30p SNY) + Post Game

>>Thursday’s game renews an old New England rivalry as UConn and Holy Cross meet for the 29th time in a series that dates to 1916 … The Crusaders hold a 19-8-1 series lead though the schools have not met since 1985 … The game will be the first for Holy Cross against an NCAA FBS opponent since a 30-21 win against Army in 2002.<<

None taken. 35k is probably aggressive, but I do think it'll be higher than 25k. There's a big difference between a Thursday night game against HC and a Saturday afternoon game against a ranked opponent IMO. Especially if the team puts on a decent showing tomorrow night. There are a lot of people in wait and see mode.

There hasn't been 25k in the stadium in years.

This HC match up is right from the Rutty playbook.

ESPN3 is streaming the game for those outside of SNY local range. That's what we're hearing at least and that's what ESPN is saying.

Outstanding. If metro Boston isn't out of range, Vermont certainly will be.

I absolutely hate these 1AA games. Though Edsall handled them very well in his previous tenure. We really need a comfortable win 35-10 or something to get rid of the ghosts of Pasaualoni and Diaco.

Not true. I remember recent USF and Navy home games were 30k+

The Navy game might have been close. But if you are talking about actual bodies in the stadium rather than what they announce not so much.

That's actually technically not true. Gordie was a Soph in 1985 and wasn't yet the prolific player on both sides of the ball he would become in the following years. The 1985 season was an odd one for HC...injury riddled, we ended up 4-6-1 which was the only losing season between 1981-1991.

Different world today, but I'll remind you guys that HC pummeled UConn 41-0 in 1984. :)

Um, isn't this a step down for Andy? Good for us though.

And what happened to Emily Noonan?

I saw a Criminal Minds episode and it was eerily familiar. Something about a college football sideline reporter being stalked by the this guy named John. Can't place why it seems familiar.
