I am sure it is all an innocent coincidence, but it seems that an ex-con has been footing the bill for PJ Hairston's various automobiles.

If you've lost track of the various tentacles of the story, North Carolina's leading scorer was arrested in a 2013 GMC Yukon he wasn't paying for, was in possession of pot and a handgun that I am sure he'll say he didn't own, was cited for speeding in a 2013 Camaro SS that he wasn't paying for and apparently has ties to an NBA agent who has been accused of paying the family of another player.

In other words, there's nothing to see here. North Carolina is waiting for 'all the information' before making a statement and Hairston is busy taking imaginary classes.

Hey, here's a funny story...do you remember when the NCAA showed up unannounced and forced their way into Ryan Boatright's kitchen? That was funny.

PJ Hairston spent the day adopting orphans and tutoring at-risk Duke students.

UNC is waiting for "hard evidence" before releasing a statement. That should come just about the same time the University issues a statement on Julius Pepper's eligibility.

They'll just have an ex-con let a "regular student" have a car. There, now it's not an athletic issue, just a regular school issue. Case closed (or more accurate would be "case never opened").

Can we all agree that nothing will come of this.

I have a feeling that UNC and the NCAA is going to come down really hard on PJ here. He may even have to miss the first 2 minutes of the big game against Holy Cross to start the season!

"The athletic department compliance staff and I are fully aware of recent media accounts related to our men's basketball team," Cunningham said. "We take these matters very seriously and are looking into these reports and the inferences they contain with all due diligence. It is my practice not to comment on the individuals involved or the details surrounding these reports until we have sufficient understanding of the facts involved. We are still gathering information, learning information from other sources, and we will not comment until we have a strong grasp of each individual situation. Where the facts show mistakes in judgment and/or actions, Coach (Roy) Williams will take and I will support the appropriate disciplinary measures."

Williams has twice said he will have no comment and will not take disciplinary action against Hairston until the legal process completes.

"The integrity of the University of North Carolina is of paramount concern to all of us and is the principle on which Coach Williams and the athletic department operate each and every day," Cunningham added. "The most responsible course of action, however, is to withhold judgment and comment until we are confident we have the facts to do so. I appreciate everyone's understanding of that and we will bring these matters to resolution as soon as possible."

In other words, they're just waiting for the right time to give Hairston that one game suspension for the first exhibition game.
