Wake up onNC state by 6 going into 4th quarter

NC State not looking good, kinda falling apart. Wake stretches its lead to 13 with 7:00 to play, forces Wes to call TO.

Will be sad to lose this one. Lots at stake for NCState and the first sell-out in the refurbished Reynolds Coliseum.

On Play4Kay day and with a top 16 seeding and right to host on the line. This one will hurt.

Unbelievable that NC State is 4-0 against the top 4 teams in the ACC, but now will have 4 losses to second-tier (and fourth-tier, in the case of UNC) teams.

State averages 8 THREEs a game...but today, only two. Meanwhile, Wake has hit eight THREEs.

This is a shock. I didnt think any ACC team could win a game on Play4Kay day at NC State. A ranked Duke team played there a few years ago and got ran out of the building. I saw WF in person thursday night, and they got curb stomped.... now this happens.

Monique Billings w/ 12 pts. and 21 rebounds thru 3 quarters, UCLA up big over Washington St. That's a Chantel Osahor kind of stat line.

In other Pac 12 action Colorado jumped out to a 25-8 1st quarter lead against Oregon and the Ducks don't look like they're going to be able dig out of that hole. Down 14 w/ 7 minutes left in the game. Ducks could be really good next year but they aren't quite there yet.

Impressive rebounding from Billings. UCLA is hungry to avenge their loss from January. Washington State has gotta be the most injury-decimated team I've ever seen.

Surprised but not shocked by the Oregon-Colorado game. Oregon is so young and Colorado is tough in Boulder.

Going into today...NCState was 36-4 against Wake in Raleigh. Just a devastating loss. Not only losing the opportunity to host in the NCAAT, but falling out of the double-bye opportunity in the ACCT.

.-.
Billings might sneak into an AP All-American team. I'd pick her over Coates.

Glad to see Depaul go down.......

You guys still hold the tie-breaker over Louisville for the 4 seed...... if yall take care of business yall will be ok. Just gotta hope that Syracuse loses to ND.

It would be a shame for yall to lose a hosting opportunity. It would be a great chance to show off your arena.

Kudos to Wake...injury-plagued and depleted, with only 8 available players and they took it right to NCState.

Poor Wuffies  On the brighter side.... I have a new favorite ACC assistant coach  NC State at Duke next year... I'll be there :D

Billings finished w/ 25 boards! Yeah the list of injuries for the Cougs this year is brutal. I'm amazed they've won as many games as they have, but been on a losing streak down the stretch.

Colorado played UW, Stanford and Oregon St. tough recently. They're better than the conference record suggests.

Oregon St. can be offensively challenged at times, but they're hitting 3's to start and up 18-11 after 1 quarter @ Utah.

Michigan State, another bubble team, got a huge win at Michigan. In a matchup of 2 of the top 3 scorers in the Big Ten, Jankoska had 28 points and 5 assists, while Flaherty of Michigan had a nightmare cold shooting game, 4 points on 2-of-12 shooting. Taya Reimer had one of her bigger games of the year, with 15 points.

Its 70 degrees and sunny here in the middle of feb... and instead of going for a walk... or heading to the gym..... im inside the house watching WCBB

Plum didn't even get a shot up for most of the 1st quarter (nearly constant double teaming), but now has 7 and passed Griner on the career scoring list. USC up 24-22 in a shootout.

.-.
USC made a big mistake--they pissed Plum and the Huskies off. She didn't even score the first 7 minutes of the game, now has 27 just before halftime on 9-12 shooting. UW has outscored USC 32-9 in the 2nd quarter, Trojans shooting FTs w/ time expired in the half. UW up 54-35.

I haven't been watching this game, but I intend to later. What did they do to piss them off?

Why did ND just run a junk out of bounds play to get a 69% free throw shooter the ball? She missed both of course.

Got kind of chippy, Dawgs weren't getting some whistles. I guess it's as much the refs fault as USC. Anyway she got this determined look on her face and then it was lights out.

3rd quarter was exact opposite, 21-9 USC. UW only up 7 going into the 4th quarter. Plum only took 2 shots, being way too unselfish, teammates can't do anything. She needs to take over again.

Plum finishes with 35 points and 4 assists. Doing some quick math, I believe she's now 78 points shy of Jackie Stiles's record. If so, she will probably break it in the first game of the Pac-12 tournament.

Osahor with 16 points and "only" 12 boards. Minyon Moore for USC followed up her huge 32-performance against WSU with another 20 points. I don't remember if the Pac-12 gives a Sixth Man award, but she should be it.

UW holds off USC 87-74. Plum finished w/ 35. Less than 80 points to catch Stiles. W/ her consistency she'll probably do it in their first game of the conference tourney.

Osahor had her usual double-double w/ 16 and 12. I believe that's 23 for her this year (out of 29 games). That's a decent career for most players.

I don't understand how Minyon Moore wasn't a top kid coming out of high school. She is electric. I have been talking about her all season.

Plum--should have no problem breaking the record. I like the Washington squad.

Yeah Moore is impressive. Some good freshmen in the Pac 12 this year. McDonald from UW is another one, she doesn't seem to be getting much attention but she's worth watching too.

Stanford leading Cal 37-32 at halftime. The gap between the top 4 teams in the Pac 12 and everyone else might not be very wide, but those top 4 keep winning games.

PAC12 games are my second favorite games to watch this season. After UCONN of course. PAC has been exciting!!! Games and players both!!

Mine too... after Duke and some ACC games of course :p . Good thing about them is that they play on Friday Nights... and late afternoon/Sunday evenings.. so I can catch them without conflict. The ACC games tend to all be on at the same time... so I have to catch a few on replays.
