ESPN Way Too Early Top 25: UConn #4

So many unknowns again this is crazy to me but hey that’s why it’s “way too early” stuff.

26 year olds and 20 year olds being interested in each other is creepy to you. You're a strange guy.

As to your first sentence that's clearly a you problem.
Setting aside the obvious differences in maturity that evidently elude you,
15,000 women aged 19-23 at an SEC school, yeah I'm sure I could find something to talk about or at least feign interest.
This is thirsty creepiness. But of course you don’t get that; you’re the creep.

Says the guy who rattled off all his conquests in the bedroom. One of the saddest things I've ever seen on this forum.

We're talking about a 26 year old in college, it would be awesome at an SEC school especially if you're a basketball star.

It will be interesting to see how Sampson coaches with high level freshmen who may have more skills but are less physically mature than what Sampson has coached the past few years.

You already know.

They will play great defense and have no freaking idea of what to do with the basketball when they’re on offense. Basically, every team he has ever coached.

Something really funny about two guys attacking each other and bjc42 cheerfully hitting "like" on every post.
I'm imagining this

You’re not the first to try this. Go be insecure somewhere else. I’d love to see a citation, though.

I was only speaking for myself and where I was in life at 26. But you didn’t comprehend that or pay close enough attention because you’re triggered by me.

You made a bunch of posts about it. It's even more sad you can't admit it. I don't feel like looking for them, hopefully you had enough sense to delete them when multiple people told you how pathetic it is.

lol keep grasping, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Your memory is clouded because you hate me. Again, you’re free to bring the evidence of what informed your ire, and we can talk about it. Shouldn’t be too hard since I allegedly waxed poetic over multiple posts; you must know the posts well, and surely know some discriminating phrases that would be easy enough to search.

Otherwise you just come off like a loser whining about it nebulously like this

I can’t even imagine what being a college student hanging around campus with 19 year olds at 26 would be like.
I sure enjoyed it as a law school student. One of the reasons I went to Kansas instead of Maryland is that I wanted to be on a campus with undergrads. For an athlete, I assume there's even more to like.

And about 45 places above where I would have put the team based on the eye test.

The defense can only improve.
No one can evaluate hundreds of teams on defense based on the eye test.

This is why statistics exist.

Right now, I don't see how UConn would be a top 5 team. Top 20? Yes. But not top 5. As presently constructed, on paper, it appears they may be about the same as last year if Alex returns, perhaps just a tad better. If Alex leaves, they may be a bit worse. Either way, they appear to have the same roster defensive deficiency issues as last year, and defense wins championships. We really need another high impact transfer if Alex leaves and even if he stays, we really need some athleticism and proven quality depth to be a true contender.

The statistics were abysmal too.

It baffles me why several posters are dying on the hill of "UConn had a great defense" this season.

I think as of todays date we might have the best backcourt in the country, complimented by a group of 5 star recruits and a few returning awesome role guys..... I am sure some teams will load up over the next few months but if you go through each roster at present I really dont see many teams that can match what we have currently signed. Look at houston for instance, they seem to be consensus 1 right now and they have basically 2 starter returners and 3 5 stars at the moment

Who is doing that? There's an argument that we improved, which I think is fair. And players can get better year to year. But we weren't near our standard this season, I bet few would argue that

CBS Sports has the Huskies #5.

Here's a 2 minute video where they discuss why they ranked them 5th.

Okay let’s shut this one down. Way too early rankings are just plain stupid considering there are thousands of players still in the portal and in our case, our best returning player is still deciding.

I've never seen an on air personality more nervous than Boone. Dude was tripping over every 5th word it felt like.

Does anyone else besides Fanta think that Duke will hit lighting in a bottle two years in a row with freshman having to start? Flag was a once in a lifetime player.
They have the Boozer twins, and possibly Nate Ament, the last undecided top 10 kid. Plus 2 other 5 stars.

Not an unfair point, but to be honest, when I was in grad school, I really wasn’t spending much time chilling around a campus. It was basically two full time jobs for me.
In grad school now and I'm happy its on a completely different campus.

I went to one game this year to watch us and had student section tickets and the little boogers wouldn't sit down. Had to move at halftime. Lol

If Karaban returns are we preseason #1?
I think so. But if he doesn't return, we're probably filling his spot with someone that's one of the best 4s in the portal at that time. I usually try to stay relatively conservative on expectations/hype, but I am awfully bullish on our squad next year with or without Karaban and expect a preseason ranking inside the top 5.

We gave the college basketball world a year off - we'll be back on our UConn grind again next season.
