I don’t understand why people get so upset over this “too early ranking”. It’s an article. ESPN does it every year or at least the last several. It’s just a quick look into the next season. And Creme clearly states in the article that (a) it’s early and (b) transfers will alter standings as the off season continues.
I hear you but if Brea Beal has even an average game by her standards, SC wins. She probably had the worst game of her career against Iowa. Boston had a pretty subpar game too.Actually, LSU's biggest luck came when Utah choked that game away against them.
I'm not sure I buy that SC had their "worst" game. They did what they do often: destroyed their opponent on the boards and shot poorly. They just lost a close game unlike their close wins against Stanford, UConn, Ole Miss, and UCLA.
For me the biggest question is Paige. I want to see the confident, “ I am unstoppable Paige“ we saw her freshman season. Just imagine unstoppable Paige and Caitlin going at it in the NC game, that would be something to see. I hope it happens!Duh. Assuming we stay healthy we should be number 1 going into next year. No one should have expected anything different given our proven roster let alone who we add. The biggest question will be health.
Cooke, Beal and Amihere have not posted anywhere that they have declared yet, and their 48 hours was up last night at 11pm. They could have, but haven't announced yet either way.I wonder how South Carolina will look with Boston, cooke, Beal, and amihere leaving
Where have you seen a Beal confirmation?Beal yes. Cooke and LA not officially.
Saxton does not have any eligibility left.I believe Saxton is also a senior...but, both Amihere and Saxton have one more year of eligibility (COVID Year).

She said so before the final four, that she doesn't like school and is leaving. Brea Beal develops into a top WNBA prospect as South Carolina career winds down in March MadnessWhere have you seen a Beal confirmation?
You can say that about, UConn, Indiana, Utah and VT, they all had a bad game. That's basketball, sometimes you have a bad day and win and sometimes you don't.I hear you but if Brea Beal has even an average game by her standards, SC wins. Brea, LA and Cook all have entered the 2023 WNBA mock draft.Beal yes. Cooke and LA not officially.
I don't see how this article proves that the players listed in it have declared for the draft. For example, it includes Elizabeth Kitley, who has announced that she will be returning to Virginia Tech next year.Brea, LA and Cook all have entered the 2023 WNBA mock draft.

I just showed that their names are in the 2023 WNBA mock draft list. I don't need to prove it since I don't make their decisions..I don't see how this article proves that the players listed in it have declared for the draft. They recruit very good and have a solid nucleus coming back. Playing so many players this year might not have helped them this year but those players who played will have a seamless transition next season.I wonder how South Carolina will look with Boston, cooke, Beal, and amihere leaving
Johnson, Hall, and Cardoso will be starters for sure, assuming all the seniors leave. The other two starting spots are up for grabs imo. Maybe Fulwiley will grab the other guard spot, she’s a great offensive player. I could actually see them being a bit better offensively next year but they’re gonna be nowhere near as good defensively. They recruit very good and have a solid nucleus coming back. The portal works for new coaches but if you are established I think it hurts your program more than it helps. As a coach you shouldn't need others to develop your players, nor should you want people who aren't loyal. I would be surprised if any big names land at other contenders for next season. What big names are in the portal?
I agree that Stanford will be better without Jones next year as long as other people get better/step up. They have A LOT of talent on their roster that they never got to mesh together. I think having one clear leader and style of play will help them develop better chemistry and hopefully more solid rotations.I think Stanford will be better next year. Jones didn't look like she really was enjoying BB this year and the team as a whole looked like they needed a full time leader. Brink should give them that and they have a ton of talent on the bench waiting to get their chance. Iowa will struggle next year and be lucky to be a top 10 team with out the people they are losing. The two playing the extra year are good players but not quick enough to defend the top athletes. LSU will be the team to beat in the south and I like UCONN up north.
I’m intrigued to see how Stanford does as well. I think the loss of Jones will be more impactful than you think, however. She was their primary ball-handler, second-best rebounder, and the only one on the team who could create her own shot. I don’t see anyone else on their roster who can create their own shot at the moment. I think they may start out slow next year but start to look like a top team towards the end of the season.I think Stanford will be better next year. South Carolina's offensive woes this year were more of the visual variety. Because of their offensive rebounding efficiency and Boston's low post play they were a very efficient offensive team that was pretty high score. They ended most poessessions with a basket they just needed 2-3 chances on each possession to do so. Next year I imagine they will be more dynamic offensively but not necessarily more efficient or consistent on that end of the ball. I don't imagine they'll be stopped by a team playing defense like Iowa did next year but on the flip side, most teams won't have to play defense against them that way with Boston and Saxton gone. Cardosa remains a threat down low but is easier to guard as she doesn't yet have the skill set of a Boston or a Brink around the basket or from the free throw line extended.Johnson, Hall, and Cardoso will be starters for sure, assuming all the seniors leave. The other two starting spots are up for grabs imo. Maybe Fulwiley will grab the other guard spot, she’s a great offensive player. Ha!Good time Charlie didn’t waste any time to reveal his not-too-early top 25 preseason rankings for next season. I’m pleased to see UConn back at number one where they belong. Now I’d like to see them live up to it. Charlie’s list gets our spring and summer off to a good start. Only 7 more months until the season starts back up.![]()
I did not see that, thanks. I have not seen her name appear on the list of confirmed WNBA draft entrees though, and she hasn't made an official announcement yet. Nor has Cooke. Just curious...She said so before the final four, that she doesn't like school and is leaving. Brea Beal develops into a top WNBA prospect as South Carolina career winds down in March Madness
No, Saxon has used all five years. Fletcher has used all five.I believe Saxton is also a senior...but, both Amihere and Saxton have one more year of eligibility (COVID Year).
I may be wrong but going quiet more likely means they’re leaving imoNo, Saxon has used all five years. Fletcher has used all five.
Boston has announced wnba.
Zia seemed to want to go pro as did Beal. But there has been no public announcement.
Amihere has been totally quiet

Yes. As long as you win the last gameDoes the #1 rating come with a banner?![]()
